picks : tortex jazz 1.14 (preferably in pitch black...if not, purple works!)
strings : D'addario 9-46 for standard to a whole step down, 11-49 for anything lower, to B standard
pickups : EMG 81 and 85, or Duncan Distortion

Jazz III Maxgrip, Daddario 10-46 wound 3rd, pickups I don't have a standard choice but I usually stick with Seymour Duncan for humbuckers.

And I always thought I was the only one who liked wound 3rds :rock: (I use a heavier gauge though)

Picks switch a lot 2mm+

duncan jb/'59, but have recently become a mcp convert. bought a detroiter of a fellow forumite and its the perfect pickup in my SG. hope to try a garuda next, i heard its an all around better jb..?

Pickups depend on the guitar but a JB is hard to beat.

Be using motor city pickups most likely if I had spare coin.

Mostly Ernie Ball Reg Slinkys, but I am digging Elixir Nanoweb 10-52 for my Tele with D tuner.
Always looking for a better JB... BKP nailbomb and MCP afwayu have done well for me. There will be more MCPs in my future.

try a holy diver they sound awesome i bolt on necks especially if you have a brighter guitar or if it has a floyd rose. Even a maple through super strat.
