Your prefered way of blocking a floyd.

Duct tape and old worn down picks stacked for the perfect fit.

Bumping. Just ordered a Charvel and am gonna try out the Tone Vise pitch shifter for drop D tuning.

I was thinking F-U tone trem stopper, but I’m intrigued by the Black Box as it allows for pull-ups and I guess you can adjust the tension?

Also, has anyone noticed a “clank” sound when returning the Floyd to normal and it “hits” the trem stopper? I noticed that on my friends guitar.

Cheer!

Yep, mine does that, if you do a deep dive and let go of the Floyd's arm, while it settles itself back in a clank.

Just put a small piece of duct tape on the block to eliminate the clank.

I use the ESP arming adjusters in all of my guitars. There are times when I do need to slightly pull up on the bar. They work great and keep things nicely stabilized if I drop the E to D.

Ha, all of the above work just great! I have a Japanese Fender Fotoflame Floyd H-S-S Strat I've used for 20 years at a lot of gigs, and I just put a piece of wood in , and use a D-TUna on it. .I have ZERO complaints. . It stays in tune perfectly and the D-Tuna has always worked perfectly. Since noone else answered your question, mine won't go a full step down via fine tuners. . I've never tried 1/2-step down, but I do the Drop-D thing regularly. . I now use the Digitech DROP pedal for the 1/2 step or full step down, and for the 3 songs a night I use that for , it's killer. The slight latency will bug some people but I find it well worth not having to bring all these other guitars to gigs

I have 4 guitars with floyds. One is an FRX so it doesn't count. My main guitar has a tremel-no set for dive only. One of the others has a homemade trem stop. The last has a small block of wood.
All are set for dive only.
Since you are never gonna use it I would say use a piece of wood. The tremel-no works great but is pricey and if your never gonna use the floyd why bother

I cut a paint stick and slid it under the springs..Has worked for years..

Glad to see that I am not the only hillrod making things up to block Floyds!

I have used old picks superglued together, wood blocks, and even a dead 9V battery! The battery was after a frustrating string change when I decided that I was done with Floyds. Turned into the picks and now it's wood blocks.

I have one of these in my main Axcess and it does the job well. I did have an issue with the one nut that sets where it stops getting loose, but I put some locktite on it and problem solved.
My other Axcess has a trem stopper and I kind of prefer it as I think it tends to be just a tad more stable and reliable, but the added ability to pull up on the ESP is nice.

Good idea! I did this as well on mine. I also solder the ball bearing in place. I use a stiffer felt stopper on the block as well. The wood wedge block or trem stopper is still the easiest and best if you are doing the dive only thing.

I 3D Print blocks. Some I keep in all the time, others I use for easy string change on Floyds.
