Have you tried any other tones with that thing? I can hear the metal tone and that sounds pretty good. Just wondering if there is any versatility in there.

I think many of us have had that question since the early demos came out.. this demo and the diavlo 5 sound great doing metal, that we know, but i want to hear someone lower the gain and crank the volume and get the crunch or pump some mids and do the rock/hair thang. Maybe i should just bite the bullet and get 5 watter..god knows i'll put something out sooner than Randall. Hey Randall if you re listening.... PRODUCT DEMOS DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

We understand the need for demos, believe me. Lots of stuff behind the scenes that you don't know. I am working on it.

RT is the only place I ever get asked for demos with 80s tones or Ratt and Dokken riffs. And even here there are only a few that request it. That being said I made a video of some 80s riffs on the Diavlo 100 while I was at NAMM specifically for the RT crowd. I realize that wasn't a produced studio demo but I thought it helped.

All that being said...I will be doing full on studio demos of all the amps and they will be total walk thrus not one tone and done. I love that 80s stuff, too sometimes and I know how to get those tones, believe me.

And finally...believe me the RD5 will do 80s stuff no prob. Go for it and thank me later!

Jason, I love your heavy stuff and I am a product of the 80s, but prefer the heavier stuff!! Keep the awesome demos coming!!

Most likely going to sell my pre-Fortin RD50 head and getting an RD20 or RD45 head.Heard Jason play the new Diavlo series at NAMM and really liked the increased versatlity of the Fortin voiced models over the otherwise superb sounding original Diavlo.

Thanks! I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I like that stuff, too, but I have expanded into other music. Too much good stuff out there to still be listening to the same old stuff.

I remember the NAMM video thanks.. I just hoped I could hear it with the tone knob pumping the mids and with the gain dialed way back for some AC DC to Thin Lizzy tones and then gradually bring it up to Whitesnake. Crazy to think all kids care about nowadays are the brootalz or old Metallica tones :( I guess that's ok, more greasy tone for the rest of us! I'll probably pull the trigger on the RD5 once I sell some more gear.

GREAT DEMO!!! Sorry to hi-jack...But when is the new Randall/Fortin - Meathead/Hammett being introduced? Anyone have any additional details???

I agree and the 90s were also cool with a slew of great heavy bands!!!   I like to listen to a lot of different rock, metal, blues, etc!!

Nothing wrong with other styles of music but what about those people that want to write NEW music with OLD tone?? Do you guys all wanna play bass heavy mid scooped tones so you can sound like everybody else?? That's all i'm saying... don't be afraid of the mids...

I think they are street price 299$ judging from the first link i saw of them in stock. I was hoping for a 249$ price point and 199$ for the 1 watter but i guess not.

Damn dude, do you want them just to give em away for free  . $299 seems like more than fair.

Awesome demo as always Killertone

Great!!!! Can we get an 80s style clip? Possibly Lynch, Ratt or VH?

In 5 weeks you can. :D I leave for tour tomorrow and won't be back until then.
Don't ePunch me but ... wat is your band? You're a monster player and I would like to check out your stuff.

Man... I wish I could play rhythm in that style... just not in my vocabulary (YET!!!)...

Sounds excellent, man!

It is totally cool that you aren't a fan of this...nothing wrong with that but I think you should have the facts.

Fyi - the mids are't scooped on any of my demos at all. In any way. The one I did wit the Ratt riffs at NAMM the mids were at about 1 or 2 o'clock. The video in this thread the mids are at noon. I don't play with scooped tone and never have. And bass heavy, eh? The Bass in this video is at 11 o'clock! Way less than the bass on any 80s sounding modded Marshall.

Not sure what you are hearing...I will say it again: If I switched to a Superstrat tuned standard with the exact same tone settings I could cop an 80s tone just by playing differently and not touching a thing on the amp from the tone in this video. Guaranteed.
