These guys never get the props they deserve. They are one of the best sounding live bands from that era. Kip can still sing like a mofo, the background vocals are awesome, the guys are great on their instruments, etc... Really incredible band that never came across like they were.

I saw them several years back and was told by everyone that I would be floored. I was. They are incredible!!

Chris

You know I dig that melodic sh!#... never stopped being a Winger fan.. even as far as Kip Wingers acoustic album of all their best stuff... But..
Much as I love these guys... :hys: a 40-50 year old guy singing 'shes only 17, daddy says shes too young, but she's old enuff for me'?!??!?! :hys: :hys: :hys: Somehow I always thought that would come back an bite them on the ass... Looks fkn HYSTERICAL to me to see it... Scares me when I think what some of us must look like onstage... :hys: :hys: :hys:

Chris -

Did you happen to get the Winger Live DVD filmed last year? It's really good!

LOL! Have you ever been rocking out onstage and think that same thing? I've been jamming and all of a sudden thought to myself "I must look like an old man on stage trying to act young." LOL... Kinda ruins the mood.

Right??!??
It's soooo dependent on the material ur covering, but I always try to keep an eye on that aspect, ya know?? In my head, ur representing the material u play, like it or not... Seventeen is one of the few covers I love an can actually play!!! :hys:
it fkn KILLS me, BUT I don't want anything in the set list that makes me look like a fkn pedophile... :hys:   :hys:

Incredible !

They still rock friggin' hard after all these years !

I was laughing the whole time watching and then reading this thread, wondering if anyone else was thinking the same thing :D
Really good performance though.

I'm sure all the guys in Winger would like to do just that if not worse

My brother saw Alice Cooper a few years ago and said it was the funniest thing he's ever seen - a bunch of 40ish year old men headbanging singing "I'm 18" and "School's out"...

That being said, I'm sure there is a large fraction of the audience at a Winger show that wishes they could be/be with jailbait.... :scared:

I could care less what they're singing about...it's good music.

It's obvious they realize how funny it is when they sing one chorus as "she's only 35." Ya know?

I was thinking about that a little... If someone was 17 when that song came out, they would be pretty damn close to 35 right now...

Going to see them on Friday :dunno: but its because on of my teacher's bands is opening for them ;) But I'm sure Winger will be good too.

Hey man, you taking lessons from Lenny? That should be a good show.

Yeah, our old rythm guitarist went to MI and Lenny was his teacher. My band and Elegantly Wasted played at his birthday party. Plus Lenny was friends with a band called Ekphrasis and my band did several shows with them, he was there a few times. He's a great guitar player/singer and one of the nicest dudes I've met.

Cool stuff, and agreed, he's a great guy.
