I don’t think a member should be banned because you disagree with his opinions or don’t like what he posts. Seems like forum mob mentality.

Can you quote something of Krull, where he's posted something useful for the respective topic or for the forum at all?

He's misapplying this forum, to blow his permanent boredom away and appears like a defiant and frustrated 13 years old boy IMO

I’m not going to waste my time looking up a members posts to try and appease you. If you want to start throwing insults out you look like a frustrated old man. Don’t you have amps to build, your customers have been waiting. I’d be very irritated seeing how much time that could have been spent building my amp I just paid 10k for. I could care about 800 million ant farts on a windy day what someone posts here, this place has turned into a hairy sweaty nut sack just like harmony central.

This is freedom of speech, peeps. Take it for granted and we'll lose it all.

I'm not about to sift through his posts so I can quote examples for Larry. This is unnecessary and a waste of time, and moreover, being perceived as useful isn't a requirement of membership.

Lastly, the quotes against Krull in the OP are themselves abusive, aren't they? A piece-of-shit fuckwad who can't play guitar? What's good-for-the-goose. Besides, we all know about that free-speech philosophy - "I'm all for free speech, which means I'll defend to the death your right to it even if I strongly disagree with what you say".

Larry, I respect you, mate, but I think you'd best let this one go. Pretty much anything goes in this forum provided one doesn't issue death threats or post porn, and this, IMHO, is how things should be.

It's a slippery slope to try to police the extent of this freedom, which is why sensible people and governments draw the line at incitement to violence and threats to kill, along with the obligatory "don't yell 'FIRE!' in a movie theatre".

Presumably you in the US do have different laws?

Because only for the publicly incorrect accusation: "Larry you've stolen the money of stevek and disappeared" I could sue him, because in Germany this is a element of crime named "Üble Nachrede" (libel and slander) and would be punished with monetary penalty of the amount of your income of 2 to 3 months.

In an case like this the court would order the owner of the forum to forward all details of the particular board member and at least by his email he could be identified.

No chance in Germany, to get away unpunished in the case of a publicly incorrect accusation.

Maybe now additional I have to learn American legislation?

If you respond by correcting him, stating the truth as you see it and saying that he's wrong, I see this as a valid correction. In a perfect world of free speech, this is how things would work, and here's why:

If people are prevented from saying the wrong thing / being biggots / being racist / being "stupid" and so on, the opportunity to call them out / correct them and therefore expose their ignorance, is unavailable.

Here in Australia there's a constant push to expand the restrictions on speech, and it mostly involves shutting people up so others aren't offended, and yet, as I pointed out, this would prevent discussion about, and therefore exposure to bad judgement and attitudes. Let's face it, if you don't have the opportunity to educate those who say the wrong thing, their attitudes will not change. It's a public-arena opportunity to educate and reform those who hold onto bad attitudes and behaviour, and once again, I always argue that this is how it should be.

Hopefully this makes sense to you, mate. You've responded by correcting Krull and everyone can see your side of it, so IMHO, as I said earlier, there should be nothing to "worry" about. I can tell you that I, amongst many others, would love to buy at least one of your amps after hearing all about them... if we could afford it. :doh: :rock:

Thank you for your words, I feel honored myself.

But otoh it might be my luck, that not so many people can afford my amps?

I guess if only every 50th of the Rig-Talk members would order an amp from me, then I'd have to work still 300 years or more? :D
