+30dB of 100% absolutely transparent DEAD quiet boost.
48V independent power supply.
Tone of this pedal naturally overdriving a maxed out clean or even a slightly dirtied channel?

UNFKNBLVBL!!!!!!

I feel pretty lucky, only 185 made of this Pro model and I've got one. Just arrived yesterday and just got into playing it today - this is an INCREDIBLE boost pedal, and it's the smooth overdrive it gives that's still crystal clear and heavy as a sledgehammer that leaves me speechless. Yo cats at Creation Audio Labs - MANY THANKS!!!

Damn!!!!

PS - for sale, brand new in box CAE/MXR Linedriver/Boost, CAE/MXR Boost/Overdrive - both with all pamphlets and ready-to-mail warranty cards in original boxes, PM me.

Does it act like a volume boost? Or a boost to kick in extra overdrive?

A clean boost - period. But...and this is why I was skeptical, only BEING a clean boost, I couldn't quite figure out what all the rave was, but I tested it out and bought it as a clean boost only, and in this application, it's the best 'transparent clean' boost I've tried to date.

Well, the truth of the matter is - this thing has got some serious, serious horsepower to it, and it'll overdrive a clean channel or add more drive to an already gritty channel like none other - JUST by being an [over-the-top powerful] clean boost. So, maybe not the best addition to a 100W head a bedroom levels (+30dB is a LOT of headroom!!), but if you get your MV's up to the point of power valve saturation, then punch this thing in, my goodness - it's incredible. The fact it's so neutral and doesn't add ANYTHING to the signal but "more signal", the natural overdrive it produces has knocked all my other OD's to the bottom rung. But again, ya gotta be running your amp hot to get this thing to really shine. When it does? I can honestly say I don't think you'll have ever heard a better stomp in your life. I know I haven't :D

Keeper. 100% absolute keeper.

An awesome clean boost. I got one to use with my SLO, but haven't used it in almost a year. I should either pull it back out or sell it.

Ya, close... The one you posted is the 'classic' model which runs standard 9V and offers +24dB of boost - still a KILLER pedal, but the one I got my hands on is the Pro model, only 185 made, and it's a 48V independent power supply with +30dB boost. Now, one may not think that's a hella difference, but I spoke with Alex at CAL this afternoon and he said "the difference is huge, not to say the classic isn't good, it's awesome, but the Pro has so much more headroom, but it was meant for a super niche market - not everyone can handle that much boost, nor want it".

This is the one I managed to get my hands on: http://www.creationaudiolabs.com/mk42348v

Brand spankin' at that!!

Funny enough, I was using it on my re-built Classic 30, man, the overdrive - NATURAL overdrive - of this amp now, with all its new glass, bells and whistles (not to mention a sweet Celestion Gold), was the sweetest sounding non-effects amp sound yet. Now, I am CERTAIN it'll sound great with my heavy hitters - but man, I'll need some space to get these amps to 10 PLUS this Boost to get them over the edge...

WICKED WICKED BOOST!!!!! The best!!!!!!!!

If you decide to sell I'd be interested in it. :)

You can pick the 9V version up direct from CAL or off eBay (as we saw above), but if you EVER come in contact with this 48V Pro version, grab it and run like hell :D

i used to own one of these but not the pro version. I ran it through the fx loop of my amp and it did a great job for volume increases. If you're looking for a great clean boost this is easily one of the best on market.

I found one and they want 350 dollars for it but its brand new in box, is that what they go for?

I bought mine a couple of years ago and they were around $225. I'd sell it for $125 today if anyone wants it.

If it's the 48V Pro version, there's a huge aftermarket for these now and according to Alex at CAL, some cats are willing to pay big, big bucks for them. The extra +7dB is what makes it almost 3x more potent than the +24dB version, and that means anything past 1 o'clock on its dial will evoke a lot more push to the power section if you wan to use it that way.

I think Danno just bought this pedal from Bill (above), if so - killer score. I am SUPER impressed with this stomp. I mean, REALLY SUPER impressed.

Peace Y'All,

I wonder: CAL "Mark 4:23" + Fortin "Natas" = Armageddon

Anyway, it's unfortunate that they discontinued such a cool product.
