Has anyone modded their Shiva so that the "Mode" switch is activated by the footswitch???? I talked with Bogner today and they said it would be no problem. Just curious....TY

I'd love to know how to do this.

Well since mine has reverb, I will have to use the reverb switch on the footswitch and disable the reverb or just have the reverb on all the time. The other option is to have another footswitch input jack installed on the rear of the amp and use a seperate footswitch. The rest is electrical stuff....which I have no clue!

Is it an easy mod that I can have a local tech do or should I just send it to Bogner???

If you trust the tech, you'd probably get it back alot sooner and not have to worry about shipping it.

This is a super easy mod, I bought a 20th Shiva on the forum that already had it done by Sammatone. I just did it to my buddies amp with no issues. You have to have a non reverb model so you can use the reverb button on the footswitch. Install a input jack in one of the spare holes in the chassis. It's a one wire mod from the hot on the input jack and soldered to the mode switch. The switch has 6 pins and just solder it to the correct one, you don't have to unsolder anything. I will take a pic and post tomorrow. The footswitch doesn't have to have anything done to it. Just leave the mode switch in the out position and the footswitch will control the mode.

A pic would be great. I have a reverb model but would like to disconnect the reverb but still use the same pedal. Kinda sucks though cause the FS jack is mounted on the board. I didn't want to use a seperate FS.

The mode switch has 6 pins coming trough the board it is the third one on the left side the wire gets soldered to from the tip connection on the 1/4 in input jack.

So could the shift and mode switch both be foot switchable? I do not own a Shiva, but the amp interests me greatly. For those that do own the amp, would having the shift foot switchable be of interest?

I see that you have a non reverb head. Any reason you can't use the Reverb footswitch jack and also engage the LED on the stock footswitch?

I use the footswitch reverb button and the LED does work. You can't use the reverb jack because it is directly mounted to a board and you have to modify it, would be a pain in the arse!

Just did this mod. Works perfect! Only question is the foot switch led is really really dim. Is it just a narrow angle led, or is it something else?

This is great! I have a non reverb model and really would like to able to control the loop with the button bit that would hard to do.
I will consider this bit, but will it void the warrany?
Not that I plan on selling but it worries me for resale value.

It can easily be put back to stock if you decided to sell.

Woah! Excellent just did the mode mod on mine and it works great on my non reverb KT88 head. Thanks for the info! The L.E.D works but mine is faint too! Any ideas guys? :)

Just did this mod to my NR model so I can control the mode with the G-System, works fine, kind of like the switchable overdrive on the Cornford MK50ii I used to have.
Thanks for the info!

Why can't this mod be done to the amp if it had the reverb option? Are you guys saying it can't be done because there are enough buttons on the footswitch to cover all the options? I was thinking you could use a separate switcher, like an amp gizmo in this instance and not use the Bogner 3 button switch.
