No...I had a MK I. Never should have sold that amp. My understanding is the MK III is slightly tighter.

The top end on the Herbert I owned was crisp and aggressive....That said it inherently has a lot more "body" by comparison to the MLC...

Any of you guys tried these EMG Retro-Actives? Seems like they get somewhat mixed reviews, but a few of the hard rock / metal guys out...

In terms of the guys who favor metal...I don't know many who have regretted acquiring a Herbert.

A lot of guys seem to favor the ENGL stuff based on what you seem to favor tonally.
