I have the pre Burstbucker version in this guitar, I think 498t. I like the sound but it's just not quite open enough sounding. I thought I read that there is something you can do without changing the pickup to improve it. I'm just talking about the bridge pickup. Anybody?

I have one of these and I want to bias a new pair of tubes. I figured I need to solder in the 1ohm 1/2 watt resistor. When I open it up I see that it has a resistor soldered to the lug but it's off of pin 5 not 8. And there is no lug off of pin 8 to solder to. So I guess I need to buy a biasing...
