That sounds amazing. But preferably, I'd like to have the v30s and greenbacks in an X pattern together, so I don't have to swap out cabs when I want one or the other. That's what I'm really curious about. I'm worried about the v30s possibly overpowering the greenbacks even when close mic'ed. I...
I've been drooling over some greenback IRs, so now I'm considering getting some 8ohm greenbacks to throw in my Mesa OS along with the V30s that are in it. I know the greenbacks will be quite a bit quieter, but all I really care about is the sound when mic'ing up the cab. Has anyone tried this...
I just ordered tubes the other day for the first time in a couple years. Got a little sticker shock. Picked up a rev blue that still had the original tubes in it, so I didn't have much of a choice. I was dumb enough to pay for overnight shipping too. Going to be 4 days before they get here...
Seems like they put it in there just to say they have added some modern feature. I'm curious how many of you run a preamp straight into an IR. I sure as hell don't.
I made a 4x4 moving blanket tent using PVC pipes and put it in a walk-in closet that is roughly 2x the size of the tent. I'm pretty happy with this setup, and prefer the recordings I get from cabs in the tent over the my Suhr loadbox(which I love). It's still pretty loud outside of the closet...
One of my cabs is loaded with Marshall V30s and DV77s. I cant remember the exact frequency point, but I have done a bunch of recording tests with my all my cabs and speakers, and I remember the DV77s below like 1.2k having a very similar character to the early 2000s V30s in my Mesa OS. So, I...
As soon as I saw the title I immediately thought of two people. Dime and Carlos Santana. I'm glad they both made the list, but Brian May ahead of Dime? Tf?
There is a slightly cheaper one a lot closer to me. But, my hold up is people selling them used are asking the price of a new one or more. I might as well just buy a new one. Or, if someone can convince me they aren't any better than a rev blue.....
I've been waiting for the EL34 version to come back into stock, and meanwhile just drooling over everyone's videos daily. I'm about to escalate into jealous rage here soon.
It's in excellent condition and comes with the footswitch and cover. It has a set of JJs in it with somewhere around 20 hours on them. I have an AT7 in v6 and 5881s in the power section. Looking for $2000obo. Local pick up. I live in north AL (2 hours south of Nashville).
I had a TC100 for a while and the thing that led to me selling it is lacked umph in the palm mute department. Otherwise, it had unreal harmonics and was amazing for thrash type stuff. The posted recording of the AxeFx sounds a lot more dynamic than the actual amp from what I remember.
Me if I was present for pre-production: "Hey guys, remember that song you just played? Yeah? How about, let's not remember it, and pretend this never happened."
In early 2020 you could get a 6505, 5150, or DSL for $400 all day long. Now, I see people reposting these over and over again for months on end at like $800+. Shit is hilarious.
