    Defunct amp companies

Yeah I vaguely remember that shit storm from HC 20+ years ago, but that name always came up synonymous with anything garbage or asshole-like

Whats the name of this technique and where's a good video to learn it?

George Lynch calls it "rolling harmonics" in his Guitar Bible video

    Lynchmod & Lynchbacks

My mistake. It really sounds THAT GOOD that I swore there were isolated backing tracks in it lol. And...props for the 500k. Rarely see those anymore. I still have the one I bought 15 years ago and put The Hunter pickup in it recently - may switch to a regular Distortion though. But wow...

    Lynchmod & Lynchbacks

Well done! How much was the blend with the backing track guitars? Sounds great but I think I'm hearing mostly the back track guitars for the rhythms (on my phone so not a good source). Anyway, I need to dust off my Lynchbacks. They sounded amazing when I first got them, but over time the highs...

What albums or bands would you re-amp??

I will fight you. At least let Maximum Security stay as is. Love that Rockman-esque tone. Sidenote: I know a lot of guys say MacAlpine used a Peavey with the 800mhz freq pegged, but in the liner notes of George Lynch's Will Play for Food album he says he recorded Tears of Sahara with Tony's...

How good is the Tremolo bridge on the PRS SE guitars?

I typically am not a fan of non locking tremolos if I'm using them for what I use a Floyd for. Having said that I echo what was said above in that in my experience they perform about as good (or bad depending how you look at it) as a traditional strat trem, maybe a little better tuning...

How good is the Tremolo bridge on the PRS SE guitars?

Locking tuners actually aren't designed to do what most people assume they do...

    Cornford MK50

99% certain there is no "Mark I" or "Mark II" - "MK" is literally just the initials of Martin Kidd who designed them. There's the MK50H which is a single channel, and the MK50HII which is a 2 channel. Like what the Soldano Avenger is to the SLO. I own a MK50HII clone that was branded by Jet...

    WTB Jet City Eminence Speaker

Oh man. The Vintage ones? I have 3 pairs but I don't think I can let any of them go just yet. Try finding the Eminence CV75 speakers which are what the Vintage ones essentially are (MIC version)

OK...What Amps Do You NEVER Regret Selling?

Line 6 Spider II, because of obvious reasons. Had it for not even 24 hours and after a disappointing band practice I returned it to GC. But then again this was around 2006 when I was starting out with the band thing. I think every other amp I've sold I have regret selling.

    JBL K120

I got this in a Seismic 1x12 with a Crate BV60 for freaking $50 this week. No idea what this speaker is intended for or how it sounds, but I'm trying to see if anyone here has experience with them at all?

    Some history of Rig-Talk

In regards to King Crimson/David Gerlach... I never had a bad interaction with him, but didn't really chat much. Back in the HC days maybe around '01 he posted a clip of his 5150 with integrated quads, and to this day I think is still one of my favorite amp clips. "Cookie Monsters" I think it...

Recorded with my kid this week

My son and I started working on recording last few nights. He's been playing for a year and a half now. He's crushing it on rhythms on all the Metallica albums up to the Black album, as well as a lot of Slayer and Pantera. Decided to team up for the interlude harmonies on Metallica's One...

    Krank Krankenstein: Yay or nay?

Buddy of mine had a Chadwick and Nineteen80 Jr - both very much exceeded expectations in terms of tone. I'd imagine the rest of the Krank lineup followed suit. Maybe over hyped and too flashy imagery, but haven't heard a bad one unless it was from a bad player.

    Famous musicians you've met

'Met' Jeff Loomis and Keith Marrow as they walked past me after their Conquering Dystopia set opening for Animals as Leaders. Shook their hands and congratulated them on an awesome set. Nothing to write home about but they were cool. Had a 1 on 1 private lesson with George Lynch back in 2011...

FU-Tone EVH Frankenstein Plus Pickup - Liquid Charlie Demo

Man I really like Liquid Charlie and have been a fan for years . . . but this is not one of his finest demos. Sounds like the input to the board is constantly clipping and captures mostly high end harshness. Listened to this through laptop speakers, BT earbuds, and Sennheiser 280s. All the...
