2x12 cabs: What's your choice?

You're going to think I'm joking, but I'm a fan of the old ADA split-stack 2x12 cabinets. You can find them dirt cheap, and often Guitar Center has them with surprisingly reasonable shipping (last I checked anyway). I've got a pair with the Vintage 30s that were pulled from a Mesa 412, and they sound great. Also replaced the ozite with purple tolex, which was kinda fun.

Always wanted to try one of those ADAs.

Semi open back: Suhr Badger 2x12 with G12-65s
Closed back: Suhr PT 2x12 with Creambacks.

You could also buy them unloaded and fit the speakers of your choice.

Don't forget Splawn cabs. Very well built and affordable. Probably go well with your Yeti. Mine has Small Blocks (which is similar to a 55w Greenback) but Scott can load you up with different options built to order. Lots of love for Creambacks and Scott recommends those a lot - paired with Quick Rods.

I was going to recommend this as well. I've only ever owned three 2x12's, but my favorite was the Splawn loaded with small blocks. I have had Bogner and Mesa as well in 2x12. The Bogner was great, the Mesa was very directional sounding. Preferred the Splawn. Even though I almost never play through cabs any more, I still find myself checking on Splawn cabs for sale every now and then...

I compromised. I'm taking the (2) G12T's in my 4x12 out, and putting in (2) Greenbacks. Greenbacks on top, V30's on the bottom. That should do the trick!

I made my own lol. I tried to sell mine cheap months ago to no avail, so I said fuck it and made one of my engls into an oversized 2x12. Looks funny but it lost a lot of weight, and sounds killer. I’m going to do the other one soon and sell off all these v30’s I have. I’ve since painted the bare wood, so it doesn’t look completely crappy.

Cheap ass Laney's IRT 212. Have four off them and with Chinese Celestion V30 in and changed the plastic connector with metal and better jacks.
Sounds glorious and they servived stairs, throws, buildings, beer and (lesbo) porn activities!

They should be cleaned

I've had a handful of 212s over the years...Vader, a couple of Earcandy Buzzbombs, Aftershock OS 212, and Avatar Contemporary 212s.

The Avatar contemporary 212s have been my favorite. I currently have 2 of them, one as a stay at home recording cab that sits in a closet with a mic in front of it, and one as my live cab. Great cabs...solid construction, and they sound good.

Best 212 I have ever owned was a Forte, they don't make them anymore, but Avatar licences the design. I have owned port city, Earcandy, mesa, and the EVH 212. Nothing even comes close to the Forte design.

Another vote for the G-Flex. Every amp I have put through it sounded good.

They come with Eminence speakers designed to go with the G-Flex. Most people find those a bit bland.

I have some K-100's in mine and it crushes. Also with a pair of Eminence EM12's it sounded great with my Kemper I had.

I'll second that. Had many 2x12s over the years - Mesa vertical slant, Rivera, Bogner OS, CAE...
This cab is may favourite of all

Not that anyone has said as yet, but cabs that don't work might be good info
Got the Friedman and it is not great. Going between their 4x12 and 2x12 means the smaller cab is left gathering dust
The Suhr kills it with one chord
