Boost-Talk

He lives near me. Extreme friendly. He is really a teacher that does pedals on the side. He has been on and off for years. He is currently building pedals. The stuff is always evolving.

I definitely want a Tilt / Standout Version 3.

The other pedal I am looking at is the Ibanez PTEQ. Center of the band's is close to the Mesa GEQ.

So the pinball/Standout is the same pedal, 2 names?

It was two pedals.

The latest version - version 3 is a combination of the two pedals.

You would need to ask Peter. His stuff is always changing and the various options he offers.

If you look at these three photos....the switch on the first photo BUMP is the Standout if understand correctly.

IMO, adding an extra distortion-generating gain stage in a pedal that also cuts lows to the Uber Ultra would be like bringing sand to the beach. Instead, I'd just go for something that can give you a flat level boost if you want, along with some ability to sculpt your guitar if you want as well. First thing I'd recommend is a Boss GE-7. Maybe go with a parametric EQ pedal if you want to get fancier, but you honestly can't go wrong with the Boss.
This is your best option IMO. You want something with a rather flat EQ response. If I was to recommend a pedal though, i'd say OD808, because it doesn't change your tone too much and it just tightens it up a bit and pushes the signal.

I've tried a bunch, but I keep coming back to my TS808 running at 18V (I know I'm not supposed to, but I've been running it for weeks like that, and it's been fine). I just wished it let a tiny little bit more low-end through.

I'm using the model of the Precision Drive on my HX Stomp, but I'm cutting a bit of low-end after it because it has too much low-end with the Attack set to 2, but too little with the Attack set to 3.

These are my favorite boosts..

But the Naga Viper seems like it was tailor made for a recto Orange Channel

I love the Way Huge Conspiracy Theory. It adds a different shade without affecting the overall tone of the amp.
