I’m indifferent. I’m hoping the rest of it is as hard hitting writing wise as the older stuff.

I mean the band is tight but it’s like they’re trying too hard for radio play.

I always thought of them as east coast GNR as a kid

song isnt terrible. dude can sing. production is pretty bland. the nose to ear chain is one of the worst things ive seen in 2022 so far. id rather listen to cardi B at this point :dunno:

Hasn't he been rocking the nose to the ear chain since the 80s?

Interesting band with an interesting catalog for sure. I'm glad they got Erik, he is actually incredible.

I feel Skid Row has never had an identity. They always seemed to try to be relevant with whatever time they were in.

One of my favorite 80s bands by far but when ballads were big, they did ballads and that's what got them a name. Besides those the rest of the self titled were bland and unmemorable.

Then when they heard Pantera they wanted to go heavy which I'm perfectly ok.

This new stuff just seems the same to me, what can we do to be relevant? Its fine, music is their career, of course they want to be relevant and sell tickets.

Great band with great musicians. Wish them luck but they can never compete with themselves. Imo

thats what was great about them i think, they could kind of play with whoever. they fit in as good with PanterA as they did with Taylor Dayne. this new stuff will get them a few county fair and casino spots im sure.

he might have been, i havent noticed. all great things come to an end though and that should have ended in oct 89 the latest
Tbh I've always looked at him as a clown. Sebastian certainly did as well and from what I gather, besides Sabastian just being a douche and a Diva, I think Rachel was/is the biggest issue with the Bach drama and why he would never be allowed back in.

Bach basically used to pick on him. Not that bullying is cool but you can tell those 2 definitely had a lot of bad tension

Generic. Predictable, same as everyone else except maybe the lead playing. Singer is cringe worthy. Can't stand the way he bops around. Turn off the sound and it feels like he is a member of NSYNC

I love me some Skid's but that clip looks like it was done by the local high school media kids. I hope they got it for a good price.
I like the more recent clips of them playing the old stuff live though and I think the singer is a good match for them.
I know the nose chain thing is Bolan's trademark, but I agree with Raceu4her, it's cringey as hell to see an old dude still trying rock a lame trend like that in 2022.

Nailed it .. although I have loved pretty much everything from the first 3 albums.. but yeah they are very much trying to be "on trend"

It's a nice safe tune, packaged for accessibility. But it isn't the pissed off band of release 1&2 anymore... before they were sort of united and pissed at the world.. now they are too busy with the infighting and name calling to direct that anger into the music.

I don't think it's bad, and I hope they are successful with it.

I Just saw them a couple months back & they were great. I was honestly shocked.

I was a fan of their first release and thought the new singer fit well with the live shows recently but not crazy about this new single.

The video reminds me of a generic 90’s video when multiple rock, metal and alternative bands would be playing in a junk yard or demolition site but with worse production. I agree it looks liked it was filmed by a high school student for an AV project.

This kind of stuff is always painful. Probably a hard pass for me. I was super big into Skid Row in High School. Back when everyone and their Mother loved them. The hot girls, the sluts, the jocks, the stoners, the geeks, the skaters, the whatevers.

But their successive albums in the 90's is what made them stand out above all of their contemporaries and made me a live long fan.

EDIT: This is VERY coincidental but as I typed this up I'm watching Aria America on the Smithsonian channel and the State in question is Washington state. Rowe is talking about the logging industry there. He just explained that the term Skid Row comes from skids they used to roll trees down the steep hills around the Seattle area for shipment.

I learn something new every day as they say.

I’m watching now again this morning with a clear mind and yeah this is real bad. It’s sad to see the once mighty become such caricatures of themselves. I was half joking about casinos and fairs and I just looked at their tour dates and it’s literally all casinos and fairs lol.
