No. A supposedly accomplished, world-famous guitarist doing a rather shitty job with a real crappy tone on a half-assed, sloppy cover of Panama gets people 'riled up'.
Kudos for him having reached fame and fortune, but objectively, this was a sub-par cover, period. I don't care if John Mayer, BB King or Slash played it. Calling it as it is.
