Getting out of hand. Especially with the cabs.
The price of new cabs is absolutely psycho. I know the cost of lumber has gone up a lot since 2020 but who is buying a new 4x12 these days for $2500+? They're literally a dozen quality Marshall and Mesa cabs near me for $500-700 each. Plus the gear market is in free-fall. No idea how any manufacturer is selling any 4x12's right now.

Been wondering if a lot of them are producing closer to boutique levels of production (numbers, not quality)?
If you sell 1/4 the cabs at 5x times the price, you win.

This could be true and would make some sense. For example, with this amp, only collectors are probably interested in it. So they will likely buy both the head and the cab. That might tally up in the way that you're describing.

“Far more than a mere "Appetite" or "SIR #39" clone, the SL-100 boasts an entirely new design based on a highly modded version of Magnatone's Super Fifty-Nine M-80.”

So for what everyone wants in a Slash amp, this isn’t it. Got it.

Slash gets a bigger cut than with Marshall. Makes sense. Gibson must pay well too, no wonder Mustaine is there too.
Cash grabs "Double endorsements" are the way to go now. Slash is just following in Kirk Hammett's footsteps. Why endorse one company when you can endorse two for twice the cash?

i just cant imagine someone at the level and age Slash or Hammett, who both i would think gotta be worth hundreds of millions, being concerned with endorsement deals :dunno: id just start my own amp and guitar company at that point

I honestly don't really know Magnatone well outside of an old ugly combo I used to have, but if they want the delivery person knocking on my door they're going to need to Slash those prices a bit.
