I can’t imagine loving Dynasty and hating Destroyer.
:loco:
Oh c’mon… I bet you could imagine it!

I mean, Flaming Youth has got to be the worst song on their catalog.

Outside of Detroit, there’s maybe one or two good songs there. The rest is dreadful. And I do 2 KISS tributes!

Every song on that album, even Great Expectations, is better than I Was Made For Lovin You. Dynasty is the album that effectively ended my interest in Kiss. When I was 15 my band was playing She, Got To Choose, Parasite, Cold Gin and 100,000 Years in bars for money.

As a Kiss diehard they are what they are. Some great stuff, some good stuff, some bad stuff and some horrid stuff.

Personally I kinda think that's great to be a fan and be able to say this is great or this is pure shit. As opposed to having to "make" yourself like something because you are a fan. It was a great ride with many ups and downs. And to this day I love the fact that some people hate them. I think that's cool.

Sure I wanted them to stick a pin in it after the "original" farewell tour but that was for my own selfish reasons as I didn't want to see exactly how they ended, a couple 70 year old guys in jumpsuits. Now credit to them on that though, not alot of 70 year old rockers could pull that shit off. And as musicians they went out on their own terms still selling out arenas. Something all of us wished we could do.

Dynasty, Unmasked even Destroyer are polarizing albums. I could see why some would not like Destroyer but to me that is a time piece because it was avant garde for a band like Kiss to step out of the norm. Especially considering they had just broken big with Alive. Alot of people don't know that Destroyer was tanking sales wise until Beth. It saved the album and cemented them as arguably the biggest band of the 70's barring Zeppelin as every other album they released would hit at least double platinum until Unmasked.

Frankly, I love Destroyer because it is different. Now Dynasty was difficult for me as I was growing as a music fan and budding musician. I dug it because it was Kiss but not my favorite. My first experience with them as a fan with some push back. Unmasked is pure bubble gum garbage in my opinion. A few songs are good but the whole production was slick, pop wannabee watered down crap. That album ages worse for me every year. Where as Destroyer is probably my second favorite album by them.

That was more homosexual than two guys fucking
C’mon man, don’t be so insensitive. It’s two “they/thems” fucking. Holy shit! I think that just solved the whole gay bakery problem!

My first ever rock concert was Kiss with John Cougar opening. October 2 1979 at the Checkerdome in St. Louis, Mo. I was 11. That’s the Dynasty tour ( the last tour with all 4 original members). I had Dynasty but even at 11 I knew it was the end of the road.
Destroyer certainly wasn’t terrible. Especially compared to Dynasty, Unmasked and everything that came after that. King of the Night Time World and Do You Love Me alone are worth having it in your collection. Sweet Pain, while cheesy, has a cool guitar riff and that album spawned three of the biggest hits Kiss ever had.

I don't see on that list any Destroyer songs, yet you defend the album this much?

I'm not saying Dynasty as a whole is a great album, I'm saying Dynasty has a few songs I like whereas Destroyer IMO is not tolerable.
Filler songs that aren't remotely good.

I never said Destroyer was my favorite album dude, but at least it didn’t make me wonder if they had turned gay.

I actually still spin Unmasked once in a while.
However, my Dynasty poster still hangs on my guitar room wall.

Not a single Kiss song on Unmasked is even listenable to me.
The Ace songs are total cheese but also the only thing remotely salvageable.

What!!!!

KISS got more ass than a toilet seat!
