As the title suggests..anyone else getting endless algorithm streams of Joe Everybody/Nobody doing the same type of videos on audio interfaces or how to mix generic sample rock or atmospheric semi clean guitar trance tracks? You know, the 40k viewer / subscriber types. How many people do we need showing us how to plug into an interface or find deals on the used market? Even the ones that have been there for years are constantly releasing the same type of videos. Doesn't even look like they are into any of them. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate interesting vids here or there and there is a lot of great info out there. Bur there is also so much duplication. Enough with the dim lit studio with mood lighting and " we need to talk" videos. Go get a job. It verges on pathetic to me.

Anyone else?

One of the most disingenuous displays of master-click-bating on such Youtube channels is when some of these content creators make videos with pseudo existential crisis themes such as "we need to talk", as you pointed out, or "is this the end of my channel" and "contemplating selling EVERYTHING", etc. Then the next time it's back to business, shilling as usual with no follow up, action or even mention of the previous week's "life altering decisions".

It’s easy to complain about but the truth is most working musicians can’t afford to live nowadays without some sort of side hustle. A lot of them are (or have) flocked to YouTube to make a living or pad their income from another job.

The kings of clickbait titles are Tim Pierce and Mike Cole. I can't stand either of them.

are you guys all gonna start hating me if you already dont when i start my channel and it blows up?? that would be so sad :(
I will always love and appreciate you brother. Your upbeat attitude is something you should hang onto.

When I reach that 50k sub mark I’m going to make a video inviting everyone here to celebrate, we may get 3-4k new rigtalkers in a day, it will be like hcaf levels of traffic
Unless someone else had your handle and avatar I realized the other day that I have been interacting with you off and on in online guitar forums since 2007....almost 18 years......we are growing old together, apart. Good luck with the channel.

My RT feed has lots of music, gear, history, philosophy, science / technology, and recently retirement / planning / accounting channels. One guy, retired from the music industry, shares his monthly changes in his accounts, as well as his YT channel earnings, among other topics. There are a few retiree channels that talk about what surprised them in retirement, what they didn't prepare for, what some of the challenges are etc.

...also channels discussing the decline of western civilization.

if you can make a successful social media channel, good for you!

It is pretty wild thinking how long some of us have been around, really the only constant thing in my life for about the last 25 years has been a couple forums lol. Cheers to 25 more lol

What I can't stand are the guys who are intermediate players at best giving advice and doing reviews of gear. Awesome! Next I am going to go watch a green belt do martial arts videos.
When do I get a Chubtone for review? I am intermediate too, guess I fit 😂

Drives me crazy too. But, I get why they do it… most of the guys that do that kind of stuff do YouTube for their main income. So someone sets off the algorithm and unless you follow along the algorithm pushes you away. Then they don’t make money. It’s stupid this is how things are now.

One thing that’s interesting is how many people legitimately look up to some of the guitarists. Like fluff, Rabea, etc… trips me out these guys getting plugins and stuff, and they actually sell well… I couldn’t tell you one song they’ve written. People love the YouTuber thing.

I sound like a fuckin boomer.
