I used to think that a video demonstration does not reveal feel..
-depends on the player demo’ing the amp.
Example: The dude plays the opening lead lick to Paradise City, those sweet notes and the rattle on the shake can definitely show the feel.
Add those broken cleans for some Hendrix Machine Gun.. you’ll cop the feel through the pixelated screen and Tums sized cellphone speakers.
But I do totally know what you mean.
They’re not gonna demo it like crap, gotta’

Well this or that is NOT in the room when you click the amp outta’ standby right in front of you with your gear chain & hsnds.
Gotta run that hog like a whore yourself before you drop that coin🎯

It had the weak low end push of the 90w V but almost worse in a way since it mushes out where the V sounds like it has a very narrow bandwidth of low end frequencies. Too narrow to give you a proper kick with palm mutes and such. Hell, the 35w V has more balls than the 90w which still puzzles me.

When I A/Bd the VII against my IVb it was IMO a joke, which made me really sad. The IV made the VII sounds like an AM radio. I thought it was killer until I actually compared the two side by side and the balloon just deflated.

For the collectors: no need to lose sleep, your OG amps will still be vintage, rare and worth big money. Just look at other reissued amps by other manufacturers, including Marshall. And if you already own a 2C+, I am sure you would rather gig a reissue than the real deal.

I think so as well. The mkV was a cool amp, but it was noticeably more compressed and less big and punchy than my mkIV. You could dial in great tones on it, but for me, that is an example of an amp where "in the room" playing experience is a big deal. Never loved the feel of that one.

The mkvii I tried was much more like the mkiv in feel AND has the awesome crunch mode that I loved from the mkV.

Ya....the only 2C+ I have experience on is an HRG and it was a fantastic amp!

Ya it will be cool to them used and just check out. . I don’t need any more marks but this is still cool

MkV- based the C+ mode off the no-GEQ version. Not that I hate the no-EQ version, but it's just a low-gain version of the tone. Also less organic than the OG.

JP-2C- this one had potential, but there's a boxy mid hump from the hardwired pull deep and since there's no master volume its feel is pretty flat until the channel volume gets up over about 1:00, which is too loud for most people. Also less organic than the OG. A MV woud have been a game changer for this amp. Also also, I'd call this one a HRG C++ (not a C+). That said, on the mic it's pretty close.

VII- this one was almost so good. It has a bit of the organic feel that the V and JP lost. In the bedroom it's pretty good. Where it fell apart for me was a) a/bing it with an OG, the VII was just... weak. ..Then in the live band mix it disappeared like a modeller does. No push or balls at all.

JP's personal amp the JP2C was based on was a MKIIC+ HRG... no "++".

The shred mode when used on channel 3 of the JP2C is similar as far as the idea goes... but the sound is different. The shred mode is much noisier and doesn't blend in as well with the sound of a HRG MKIIC++... I played them both side to side for year. I do like the shred mode and the JP2C is the best amp MB has release in the last 20 years IMHO. The ++ when on sounds thicker, fuller, less compressed, and not as noisy... even with the gain pot jacked.

You still have a couple III's, right?

I am going to take the plunge, what the hell. I love Marks and I am curious about these. I understand the skepticism, but I have a positive feeling.
 
I was going to put these in the reissue if I bought one.
