Who said we didn’t? Most favored nation trading status for years…lol… both economies are dependent on each other. Which is why china is trying to expand globally… We could recover better and quicker without them than the inverse. It would hurt but it’s doable….

Historically, high tariffs rarely work for any country as a bargaining tool. People forget that China has been at this game longer than the U.S. & Chinese political leaders always play the long game. China doesn't have a 5000+ year history by accident.

In the end, the loser is the consumer, on both sides.

The Chinese are fucking crafty in many ways… maybe not the most innovative but definitely dedicated. The main issue we have is the espionage and intellectual economic product theft from China . Also blaming Mexico for fentanyl is stupid. The precursors come from china… produced and imported through Mexico mostly. Also the fuckin crackers using it doesn’t help either. No demand, no fetty….

I think you're missing that Trump is intent on annexing Canada. I don't believe the end game is renegotiating a trade deal or securing borders, but if Trump gets that it's obviously a win. I know you understand the value of one's sovereignty JBT, personal and national. The Canadian people don't want to be part of the US, even if it means doing with less. But what's going to happen is that corporate interests in Canada will get the politicians to yield. The people will have no choice.

It's all fun and games to cheer on empire when you're in it (And when the empire is not fixing it's gaze on you, it's citizen, as has been the case under Biden), but don't forget, empires rise and fall. I prefer to stand on the principle of being anti-empire, so when the Chinese, Russians or whoever sets their sights towards us I won't feel like a hypocrite in resisting.
