My local farm sells me pasture raised eggs at $5 per dozen.

The beauty of high egg prices is it makes keeping chickens more sensible. I spend good money on top feed and get up every morning about the break of day for those organic eggs but now my cost vs grocery store is much better.

I can tell you the people around here didn't kill their chickens and I almost never buy eggs from a grocery store.

I've almost hit a decade of having chickens. If I had the fencing I'd have sheep and goats also cause I have a little bit of pasture and they aren't too pricey if you lose an animal.
