    Jake E Lee shot

Sad news. Glad to hear he'll make a full recovery. Hope the pooch is ok too. Hope they catch the cocksucker that did it.

    Guitar wall hangers

that's pretty sweet, exactly what I'm thinking about doing too!

    Guitar wall hangers

I don't have the wood strip, got just enough studs in the wall for my small collection I guess, but I do like that look and my room could use some more mojo. What I'd really love is to toss up a row of mini spot lights angled down on the guitars (like music stores, etc). Anyone have a shot of...

Feldman already having gear issues on tour

He absolutely knows he's a train wreck and the fans are there simply to have a laugh at his expense (IMO), I think he just doesn't care...anything that keeps steady money coming is what he'll do and for as long as he can (beats having to get a real job which is what many of these b list types...

    NAD - Friedman Smallbox 50

Congrats! Great amp. I had a lot of nice results using a Timmy Boost and running through 55hz H30 Blackbacks (talk about adding some teeth). The Plexi channel and a great boost pedal can get you some killer brown sound vibes.

    📊Opinions on the AXE-fx III in 2024?

I know you didn't ask me, just chiming in anyway lol. I'm not sure how accurate many of the models are in the Axe III but in all honesty I personally didn't buy one for that, I simply wanted another tool that gave me great tones to record with, didn't really care if model x, y or z came within'...

    📊Opinions on the AXE-fx III in 2024?

I'm new to modeling with the AXE III being my first Fractal (had it 3 years now), I have no idea how significant a leap it made over the previous models but after extensive use I just find it difficult to believe the axe 4 (if that's even really happening) would be that big of a leap forward...

    📊Opinions on the AXE-fx III in 2024?

Love my Axe III. I admit I mostly just record now in my humble home studio, sometimes I use my high gain amps, sometimes I use the Fractal, sometimes I use a drive pedal into a clean amp...but regardless, when I listen back to my music I always sound like me (for better or worse)....and I'm okay...

    Live rig: amp vs digital

If I were to ever play out again I'd just take a head and single 4x12 cab. At home I've had a sound treated cab booth for many years and some killer amps (see avatar) but man, once I got comfy with the AXE III I've mostly reached for that, especially when recording tunes. I just think you can't...

Soldanos users chime in Slo versus JMP

Just agreeing with others, owing BOTH would be pretty epic (a long time SLO owner but often keeping an eye out for a STOCK JMP in good condition, recently recapped, tubed, biased and ready for prime time).

Greg Howe in a Fusion Band..

Never heard anything from Howe I didn't enjoy, most of it blows me away...his "Parallax" album is my go to when I forget how much I love instrumental guitar music. And with Greg it's not simply his technical prowess, he has this way of choosing the most interesting notes, harmonically he's just...

What wah pedal do you use?

BBE Ben Wah (same one for roughly 20 now, no issues, still sounds/works great)

Hating on digital gear: How close does the Axe FXIII (as one such device) sound compared to one of the amps it models (Marshall JVM410)

For me personally, I've never cared about modeling accuracy, I just see my Fractal as another tool that makes great tones. As long as I can dial in tones that sound convincing in a mix, I don't really care if it sounds or feels exactly like some specific brand/amp, etc. I know that view is odd...

I'm waiting for a funny Steve Lukather encounter. Nobody? Never met him but seems like there'd be an lol moment for sure.

    Modelers suck

I sometimes have little to no mojo when playing or writing, it just sux,...those are the days I give up, set the guitar down and make it a mixing only day. Still rarely listen back to my own stuff when I'm down with it - but having playing days or mixing days helps break things up, keeps focus...

    Modelers suck

Thanks chief. I relate to the mixing point - after the writing (and kind of pre-mixing while tracking) you hear the material so much I almost never want to hear it again when the project is finished.

    Modelers suck

I'm certain I've heard your clips and liked them. Hear ya...takes stones to back up the talk. Sweet strat tones in that last clip, great, seasoned vibrato too. I'll never be mistaken for a bluesman either, tend to go for a bluesy mood more than traditional blues playing..
