Yeah. Fortunately it was electrocuted at the old owners house and hopefully it’s pheromones were dissipated there and it won’t attract any to my house. 😄
Why do Marshalls and the like use can caps? I actually like the way Fender uses Axial caps under the dog house. Not only is it easier to work with, the grounding scheme is better and quieter.
Is there any actual advantage to a can cap?
Already done, my brother.
The biggest issue was the preamp tube sockets. Deoxit and plugging in and pulling the tubes fixed that up.
I also did all the pots and removed the electrocuted bug. I am still planning to recap it just to keep it running without worry. I have a YUGE component order...
I consider Gibson a guitar company not a pickup company. In my opinion, all of their pickups are placeholders for real pickups.
They are modernizing designs like this, i say it’s time for them to modernize their headstock and finally solve their tuning stability issues.
You probably like that humbucker compression thing. The P90s are just a little too dynamic if you’re not used to them.
My main guitar has Lollar P90s. I love it into high gain.
For pedalboard, Mogami 2319 and these connectors: https://www.click4av.uk/connectors/jacplu01-pancake-mono-jack-plug/
I cannot find them in USA so I order them from UK. If anyone has a source in the USA hook me up. They’re the same plugs that Hosa uses for their 6” patch cable 6-pack.
Ok. Good news. Plugging a patch cable between the effects send and return takes away the issue. Probably just dirty jacks.
I should still recap. I think this thing is 31 years old. 👴🏻
Crap. It’s cutting out. I still think it’s the channel switch. The speaker jacks are also badly worn. Barely holds the plug in.
It’s in the preamp. I took out the power tubes and ran the preamp out too my Marshall effects loop return. I changed the tubes, too. Still cuts out.
I’ve got some...
