ESP seems to be gobbling up every swingin' dick they can. They're poaching Jackson, Charvel, Dean, and Schecter guys left and right.
I still remember Andy back in the BC Rich Days. Him and Pete both were Gunslinger guys.
He's was, and still is an innovative and influential player for many. He's right up there with Gary Moore as my all-time favorites, and just as much of an influence.
That was years ago. He was with Dean for about 5 years or so before ESP which has probably been at least 2-3 years. It would be nice to see a V, but I'd prefer it traditional like the Deans were, but of course Gibson put a stop to that.
About time. He's a legend. I know he was with Dean for awhile, but they're such a shit-show, they ran off all their artists, including Mustaine. Wonder if Kerry King's seen a dime for his hideous model. I'm sure Andy's will be a Horizon, he's been playing E-II's for 2-3 years or so now..
Dirty FX loop jacks can cause issues. They're real common in the old Peavey 5150's, JSX, & Triple XXX's. If had a few that acted up like that and spraying inside the jacks with Deoxit, and spraying a plug and popping it in and out a few times, spray, pop in and out, spray pop in and out a good...
Change the tube, yes. They can do all kinds of weird things when they're going. Volume jumping or cutting in and out is pretty common for a bad power tube. And not using the loop is even more cause to clean jacks. Not using it lets dust/dirt collect.
I've had one, I had no issues, but it was the 100H, before HR. I know they're voiced somewhat different, and an added Master, but both Vietnamese. I still love the old-school UK versions.
I think they scooped out some mids and revoiced the red channel on the HR.
If you got it cheap, the blue channel is worth the price of admission. I loved it on the 50 watt Stealth. I put some, (now discontinued Shuguang, PSvane might be making them now), TAD RCA Blackplate 6L6's in mine and a couple GE JAN NOS 5751's in V3 & V4 and i thought the amp killed. The red has...
