I'm interested in the reds - what more common model do they remind you of? Some are saying a K with more of an M midrange which actually sounds pretty appealing to me.
So I'm more of a rock / Gibson guy but I picked up cheap and surprisingly nice playing Schecter recently. It's an older C1 blackjack with a JB in the bridge. It'll live in drop C or C# for when I feel the occasional need to chug.
Thinking of a pickup swap to something ceramic - hopefully to...
Looking for a Mark style amp but came across a Studio preamp with C++ mod done by Mike B.
What's the scoop? I'm intrigued but no option to try before buy. Was planning on running it into the FX return of a Marshall or Friedman, figured that should work well.
If you've played one please chime...
Howdy - have a pair of Fanes I'd like to utilise.
I have 3 loaded 4x12's - one with G12M's, one with G12H30's and a stock Friedman (M/V30). All sound great but want to get the Fanes in a spare 4th.
Who's had success mixing them with Celestions? I have a spare pair of G12M's, Heritage H 55Hz...
Hey guys,
I'm looking for an alternatively voiced rock/metal amp to my more Marshally collection. Spotted this one down under:

Yes pricing down here is insane, this equals $2800 USD but ignoring that...
Can't try before buy...
Hi guys,
Was bored the other day so picked up a Chupa out of curiosity. Getting some ok sounds. but a few questions for those with some experience and a few mins:
1. Without either of the bright switches this thing is really dark, thick and compressed. Yeah I know the bright switches are there...
So from talking to mates and gathering opinions from places such as this the consensus is... it's impossible to please everyone! :)
These are my generalised observations though:
1. If you close mic and process it to be 'mix ready', it'll probably be considered bright and thin by many.
2. If...
Hey guys,
Has anyone had successful communications through Friedman on this? I have a 2015 BE I'd like to get upgraded by a local tech as shipping the amp back to the states is ridiculously expensive. I wouldn't necessarily need parts, just instructions.
I'm wondering if I'll have any luck as...
G'day all - I've had some fun reading through the 80's thread so interested to know what the crowd here dug in the 90's.
Top 3, top 10, I don't care - might remind me of some stuff I'd forgotten or missed
For me:
1. Soundgarden - Superunkown
2. AIC - Dirt or Facelift
3. Tool - Aenima
Hey guys,
A friend of mine in the UK is starting do some pretty cool amp mods and has asked if I can help with some clips.
It seems the most common approaches are:
Option1 - close mic, guitar only
Option2 - close mic, and hear it in a band mix
Opton3 - no close mic (phone audio or some other...
