Not everyone is aware of this, but the 3-channel Dual Rectifiers went trough revisions as well. I am talking about the models from 2001-2010 before the release of the Muliti-Watt. You could still try to find out, which revision you have, but just be assured, that if you state your 3-channel DR...
Usually first thing I do when picking up a guitar is to hit the strings (G major) once and feel the vibration by grabbing the upper horn of the guitar. It kind of gives me a first idea, how the vibrations travel through the guitar. If anything of this translates to the later overall tone is...
I do prefer the leather look as well. But I as well came across some of the of the old amps having black levant tolex. Namely a RevD I personaly had as well as some pictures of RevFs
I spot some difference in the stop tailpiece and bridge PU placement. Look like the PU moved a tiny little bit towards the neck and the tailpiece moved away from the bridge.
How do they sound and feel unplugged? Is there any truth to guitars getting better and more resonant when aged and played?
I agree. If nothing else, he should get things right on the legal level, which means either deliver the amps or pay back the deposists.
For the rest, it`s less of a notion of liking his amps and more like simply looking at his actions coming to the conclusion, that he simply does not care. Not...
So it`s two driver tubes and delibarete OT missmatch. Sounds intersting and like a push for amp design, at least to me. It`s work in a field where most people think, everything was already done before or simply is a derivate of the existing stuff. But this is out of the box and you have to give...
Bummer they are going to discontinouing the MW. While the two channels sound better to my ears, the MW would be my choice for live use. I still bite my ass when I passed on a used MW Tripple for 1.2k a year ago. Guess prices will go up on these.
Someone who is selling vintage amps and pricing it accordingly, should be aware that potential buyers will demand pics. Who is going to drop several thousands for a 40 year old amp without prooper documentation? It`s a plus if your old amp is in good condition and you can ask for the upcharge of...
This thread brings me back to an idea I had a while ago. When I was building my DIY tube amp audio system, I did braid my own speaker cables. The difference was bigger than I expected. I was thinking of trying this for my guitar amp.
on the other hand, wouldn`t it be an easy fix to cancel out the oscillation? My MKIII green has one single cermaic cap on of the output tube sockets. I remeber when asking what this cap is for, I was told to prevent oscillation.
So the question is do the OG ones have the squeal as well? So far some people say no, others yes.
Maybe there will be a mod around this problem.
I am just wondering, if the people at Gibson were aware of this problem or if they just kept playing "dad rock" while testing the amp. In the end...
For your purpose, maybe there is a try out pay later thing Apple offers???
There are of course all sorts of YT videos and tutorials so you get an idea of the workflow etc.
