I think that when you have the knowledge and skills to build, and mod amps and to make them sound how you want them to sound it takes a lot of the lure out of wanting some of these other amps that are not obtainable. His good tone that he hears might not be your own and just because it looks nice inside doesn't mean it's going to sound better then everything out there.

This isn’t 2000 anymore. It’s the cusp of 2025. Anyone can copy shit but it takes true talent to build and create from scratch or tune an amplifier based on actual theory and not what competitors are doing.

What Larry offers for what he charges just doesn’t make sense anymore. The Alta from Headfirst even has more options and capability.

I’m not a business. i don’t operate a business. I said i build a better sounding more badass amp than Larry does.

Sure his stuff looks great but it’s not rocket science to do what he does and take as long as he does.
You very well might but where and when did you try one? I mean, you must’ve tried one in person to make such a lofty claim, right?

Bummer they are going to discontinouing the MW. While the two channels sound better to my ears, the MW would be my choice for live use. I still bite my ass when I passed on a used MW Tripple for 1.2k a year ago. Guess prices will go up on these.

I’ve played one. It sounded awesome. I know nothing about amp design much less have the skills to build one. Nonetheless, I bet I could learn and build one that sounds as good in a shorter period of time than anyone ordering a Larry today would get their amp. Lol

$3,500 lmao, I remember when they were $1,000 used and nobody cared too much about revisions unless you were some hair metal nerd that needed a pre-500 serial. Must be my old age of late-30’s.

Can’t imagine what a clown show it feels like if you grew up with $500 used plexi’s, when you see what they go for now.

When will the first $10,000 rev F recto sell?
I do remember $500 plexi’s and it does hurt. For almost 30 years you get an 800 or JMP MV, used, for 350-500 and a Marshall 4x12 for around 400 (just averages, as better deals could be found). It was almost like a standard that just existed. You knew if you could scrape together 800 or so, you could get an 2203/4 half stack and they were very common, so not hard to find. Then there was used Recto’s that were 800-900 used for almost 20 years, maybe more and also everywhere. The used market is incredibly overdue for a serious re-adjustment but we may just be plain fucked because new prices that catapaulted aren’t going down.

No need. I hear @DanTravis62 is getting very handy with a soldering iron lately.

Got a 2203 half-stack for about $300 but it was in '92. Got another one for $1000 around 2005. About 20 years ago LOL

I don't see a Reissue on the site..
BTW, why would they reissue an amp that is still in production??

Sweetwater told me as of today, they only have 2 more diamond MW in stock and only 3 more bronco MW in stock (with confirmed long wait). After those are sold, you’ll not be able to order a new MW.

I wanted to order a blackout edition and they said you can’t anymore. Those are already discontinued.
You're better off grabbing a 2-channel Tremoverb (Rev G) for around $1800. It's better sounding than the Multi-Watt, coming from someone who has gigged with one for over a year now.

I owned a 94 tremoverb ages ago but had to sell it for nothing when I fell on hard times. I just prefer not to own that model again given my own history with it. Nothing against the amp just it would be a constant reminder.

Quick followup. I just called sweetwater and my rep told me the MW is indeed marked to be discontinued. He warned that even if you order one now it’s a good chance that the order would continue to get pushed out until it’s automatically canceled. I asked he look into whether I can even order a new blackout edition and if so what the price is and to get back to me. Chances are small but he said he would look into it and see. He agreed that the RI would be targeting a different market so it’s odd that they would discontinue the MW for the RI with less gig friendly features at a much higher price.
Maybe SW should hire you for sales, they're sold out now! GC / MF has at least one standard MW in stock still.

Dude don't cha know, tube amps are only for bedroom players now! Gigging musicians only use modelers straight FOH! :ROFLMAO:

Tverbs are awesome amps and a great value, but like the Roadsters / Road Kings they are a bit darker & a touch less pissed off (fizzy?) than a standard Dual / Triple. My take on it is that which one you prefer has a lot to do with what kind of music you're gigging.
