Yep once Chris left it was over..

They were my first Marshall amps and yes they needed to be played at reasonable volumes to fill out that bright cap. But it was the sound, Boss SD1 in front is all you needed..

Yes Super Bass would have been EL34’s, no idea why those 5881’s would have been in there..

If that is the original output stage it was either a Super Bass or JTM/45-100 which explain the Sovtek 5881’s

I have one, Optical comp like the old Diamonds. It can be mild or over the top. Tone doesn't change regardless of how much compression. Tons of output level if needed as well..

Nothing comes close to these preamps. At this age they need caps replaced but the tones are touched by nothing..

With the maple top and ebony neck this guitar just sings, too bad I suck!

Suhr Aldrich bridge and Thornbucker neck is the best, yes I own and play these. Tried a ton and this works for me

Those small transformers are to power the relay, follow the red wire across the board..

Pre's are probably fine, I wouldn't spend anything more than another set of the Sovtek 5881's. They use them for a reason and really sound great with the SLO line..

You want to REMOVE the 470pf cap not add another one..

Looks like the bright cap on the gain pot has been clipped, easy to reattach if you want it…
