This is Ziggy the rock n roll dog. He helps out when he can and loves to hang out in my music room and listen to me play guitar. He was a stray and we were able to adopt him about 5 yrs ago. One of the best dogs Ive ever had.
I still like the PV 5150 combo amp. So much so that I have two of them. I own a Metro-Plex which is very cool but does not get played as much as the combo amps. Plug a delay in run them in stereo and nothing else needed for my needs.
Well for yrs it was the first album tone but as Ive gotten older I must say the tone on VH ll is superb. It is what I would use if I could for studio or live use.
Gary was a triple threat to me as in singer/songwriter/guitarist. He could manhandle a guitar like very few can and get some great tones out of it. I wish he could have put out one more rock album.
In 1981 I traded a decent car stereo for a 1968 100 watt Marshall because I knew that's what EVH used.. Got it home and played it but was not impressed with it. Took it back and got my car stereo back. Have fired up various heads while not being plugged into speaker cabs luckily never screwing...
Sounds like I knew it would sound really good. If there is a Van Halen tribute with the original members (Mike-Dave-Al) why in the world would they not pick you to play in it? I'm hearing they talked to Joe Satch but I just cannot see him playing Edward's parts. You are the guy for that gig.
Yours looks great and your lucky about the frets being in good condition. I have a 79 like yours with gold hardware and must say it weighs a ton but man they sound good. Rock On Sir!
