Top 5 Albums of the 70's

I'm amazed that there aren't more mentions of Fleetwood Mac. It just shows how many fantastic albums there were that decade.

Upgrading from GarageBand to Logic Pro

I think Monkey Man is right, you will have to do the same thing with Logic if you end up buying it. I have seen people use Neural DSP plugins in Garageband, so buying Logic won't fix this problem.

    Cheap combo for metal

And here I am, liking both Death and Ratt... Death weren't known for their tone but he sounds great on some songs.

Post your guitar family shots (couch/bed/lawn/whatever, just all of them in one shot okay or don't play)

Love those Lynch guitars hiding in the back! Been wanting to pick up the Kamikaze-1 for a while.

    Damn Gibson fakes

That's why they sent out the executive for the press conference. I think they want this to get as much attention as possible to make people feel safer buying new. I bought both my Gibsons used; they are expensive enough already without paying tax.

    Damn Gibson fakes

Yup, the guitar was made by custom luthier Kris Derrig. It's a 1959 replica, and he used it for most studio sessions. Comparing it to a Chibson is a bit of a stretch.

As Much As I Love Zakk…

It looks similar to the Zemaitis guitars that I see occasionally. Wylde's audience is very different from the people that buy those guitars so I can't imagine what he was thinking with that design.

    Sounding Evil in Standard Tuning

It all comes down to playing dissonant notes. Alternative tunings definitely help with achieving this type of sound, but it can be done in standard as well.

Looks like the rock standard is back

That all-black wall of Wizards is intimidating. Love the sound! It seems like it would be great for 90's rock and heavy metal.

Les Paul Custom 1985 gets new hardware...

The Gibson 500T pickups sound great. I was looking at buying some pickups from a small builder but I eventually came to love the stock ones.

New JCM800 vs used Diezels: which would you choose

Yeah, shoegaze/post-rock has become really big here in the states as well. It's become all modelers or a Fender amp with a lot of pedals. It's interesting to hear how similar the music scene in South Korea is compared to Los Angeles. Modelers are super convenient and I understand why a lot of...

Most common lies you see in local for sale ads

“Completely nails the sought after JMP/JCM sound!” The amp is a Valvestate.

New JCM800 vs used Diezels: which would you choose

Honestly either amp will get you the sounds you’re looking for. The only thing is that the JCM may require a boost occasionally. But both are extremely high quality amps that are built well. I would recommend getting a copy of Helix Native on your computer and messing around with both models to...

    When was the last time

Only when recording parts for a song. It does help though so I’m trying to use it more often.
