I can understand the point though. If it was a public site, that's one thing, but If fractal funds the site, I don't think he's being unreasonable.

I had something like this happen at my shop, one customer comes in and starts telling another customer how great one of my competitors does something right in front of me, other customer leaves and I told the dude I don’t care what you say once you leave that door but you come into my shop again and pull that shit.. all of a sudden he was just so sorry

About as much competition as the Patriots and the White Sox. Fractal doesn’t do profiling/capturing, modeling only. Two different products that do two different things.
But some people got hurt at Fractal Camp at some point so it feels good to shit on Cliff whenever one sees an avenue to do so.

What if the baseball team goes to the gates of the football game and is handing out flyers to people in line for a game the same day as a football game thus taking fans away, wouldn’t the football team probably have those people removed?

Ya got me brother, I quit paying attention to sports when Brady left the Pats because I’m a fair-weather fan at best. I see why Cliff did it and don’t disagree with him. Anyone can spend all of 30 seconds on their searching for Helix or Quad Cortex and see both products are discussed their regularly and conversation isn’t silenced unless someone is being a shithead about it and intentionally trolling the forum.
There’s a whole slew of characters who got hurt at Fractal Camp over the years; Cliff didn’t add their favorite amp or he was a meanie head to someone once by telling them to read the fuckin’ manual. This is precisely how he ended up getting banned from TGP.

I really know nothing about cliff other than there always seems to be some drama, maybe one cold winter night I’ll have to do my homework lol. I would like to try an axe or any of these modelers one day, I never played any

This debate always seems to come up on private forums- I don't get why people take so much offense to it. It's pretty reasonable for a company to ask people not to discuss competitors products/services on their own boards. There are a zillion non-corporate places to talk about the competition.

It wasn’t a perma-ban, he just won’t go back because, as usual with TGP, it was bullshit. Actually, it was Rig-Talk’s on Donnie B. at the basis of it, on his 7th or 8th account kept trolling Cliff, so Cliff noted that the mods weren’t doing their job as it was very clearly Donnie with an alt username and that was enough to temp ban him.
There’s a growing list of people who either owned a Fractal unit at one point or never even want to own one but for some reason have taken issue with FAS/Cliff. There’s 3-4 over at TGP that either got told to read the fuckin’ manual or they took some issue with one aspect of a Fractal unit and now it’s their life’s work to shit talk the company (even when the shit talking holds now water, as evident by this thread). One dude over at TGP is all butthurt because the scroll wheel didn’t do something he expected it to. It hurt his pride that much that he’ll go in *every* Fractal thread and talk shit.
And these are adult dudes.
