I'll tell ya what dude...I've been posting and talking with Carl and Mike and they aint perfect by no means (and neither am I) but I treat them with dignity and respect and they return it to me...it usually works that way. Well I can honestly say that I don't kiss Gain's butt. I don't think I've posted to him more than a few times in the past 6 years, but you did make some pretty big generalizations on the other forum. I've never been in a war with Mike or Carl, but I've seen all the drama around them and unless you kiss their butt and agree with everything they say, they become THE biggest jerks on the planet. You've been a little dramatic here in this thread yourself. You said that you give Mike and Carl respect, but you don't offer any respect to the posters here. Ask yourself this Echoes: If what you say is true, and Mike and Carl are great guys, then why does 99% of all people that come in contact with them over the net consider them to be extreme assholes of the highest order? Why have they been banned from countless forums? Why have they retreated to their own forum where they frequently have conversations with themselves?

Well I guess we are a lot alike in one aspect , because I don't care either.

Not going to waste my time because Im sure that everyone knows what I was getting at here on Rig-talk...and No, I never did talk smack about anoyone on HC. The only thing I ever said about HC as a forum is that it was a shame that a lot of guys let the trolls run free on that site. There are a ton of great players who still post there.
IMHO you made many sweeping generilazions about the people on this site that just aren't true. Something that you would have seen if you stuck around long enough instead of making and uneducated opinion.

And for the record, I'm far from perfect.

but this is coming from a drop C chugga, chugga guy. so my opinion doesn't much matter. at least being a drop C chugga guy, I know when a part needs to end/change. if I posted this clip, there would have been no reason to post the last 5 minutes. 6+ minutes of the same wankery. no real changes or transitions. if I'm gonna seriously listen to something like this - please take me somewhere in those 6 minutes. not just the same basic thing over the same couple root note rhythm. redundancy for 6 minutes is no better than a 1 minute clip IMO.

on the upside, at least I had time to go outside and have a smoke and make it back in before it was over the 2nd time I listened. like I said....good tone, good playing. I just didn't need six minutes of it to make that opinion.

I think the tone sucked. Way too fuzzy and muddy. Exact same tone used for the rhythm/picking part contributes mightily to ear cloggage.
Sloppy playing - easy to go fast when you end the riffs in muffled bass notes, sounds like you're sliding down the string picking as fast as you can. Like the comment above, I got the idea after one minute. Nothing interesting, just scales. Sounded thin when you tried pick squeals.
Did we need 10 measures of drummer masturbation to start the song?
On a positive note, I liked the picking part, just wish it went somewhere. Sounds like a pretty cool base to work from for an actual song. Repeated 1000 times it's just a finger exercise or warm-up.

yep, I hear ya...I recorded the drum track (loop) and got up to get a drink and let it run..I just instantly made up the rhythm track to it, doubled it, kinda, and then attempted to solo over it with the strat...it didn't cut so I switched to the ESP...I agree it's about 4 1/2 minutes too long for what it says..thanks for listening chuga-bro.

I found that this forum represents a wide variety of musical backgrounds, tastes, and abilities. A solid rip based in truth, from someone of a differing point of view is far more valuable than an "awesome bro" from someone of musical DNA too close to yours.

The last serious gigging band I had broke up when the singer/bass player moved to Bulgaria. He's back in town for a visit in a week and a half and we got a narrow window to record a couple songs for posterity's sake. All we got from previous shows is crappy video, people screaming, flash pods, etc., and I was using a 5150 then, anyway. Never had the time to sit down and studio anything. Lately I have been doing a lot of "special occasion" one-time gig cover band stuff, 90's, spoof 80's night, nothing I would care to waste a cd on.
Hopefully I'll have some original stuff to post inside of two weeks. I want a solid review, what you liked and what you didn't, and why.
