I personally think that Echoes misjudged a lot of the guys on here but I was wondering why he would post here if he isn't happy with the people who post here.

here's the deal GF, the www guitar forum world is still the wild wild west....HC has 99.9% hacks and a waste of my time as well as anyone that is a simi serious musician....a number of those geeks post here and bring the same useless crap here...they have NO guitar playing experience, NO idea what it takes to gig or prepare gear for a gig (serious or otherwise)...I typically pay no damn attention to them...*BUT* there is another group of guys here on RT (such as yourself) that prance around like some kind of king-o-the forum...you take up the role of 'leader' but you don't demonstrate any kind of leadership qualities. You dont *WELCOME* new guys or even try to get to know them. You demonstrate no warmth of character or any kind of simple/common respect for other musicians that you don't agree with...on the other hand you will give free reign to posers and hacks that kiss your ass...and then make that the standard for acceptance here...what a pathetic/jack-ass individual you are. Once again you show your marvelous rationalization skills. What are you writing your own autobiography? Holy Shit dude, talk about being a hypocrite .You have no idea how I am as a person. Most people will tell you that I welcome everyone with open arms. If you really need to know, you rubbed everyone the wrong way here and on HC. I don’t know if you are aware of this or not but you come off as a know it all in most of your threads and you very rarely appear to be helpful. I can also see how you are as a person being that you always use sweeping generalizations. How the hell do you know the caliber of players on HC or any forum? I am not a leader of any board but I do expose ass clowns like you. You continually miss the point and I would be willing to bet that there are more people on this board and others that would read what you have said vs. what I have said and think that you are a complete tool who demands respect but gives none in return. It's no wonder why you get along with certain people so well.

You're really assuming an aweful lot. IMHO it looks to me that you like to elevate yourself over a lot of people that you assume you're better than just because you're older than them. I guess it's natural that people like to form up alliances with others in their age group, why else would you align yourself with those other 2 jackasses.

And how do you know that 99.9% of the guys in HC have no gig experience or don't know what it takes to prepare for a gig? When was the last time you played out? I think some 24 year old who's playing out 3 times a week knows more about gigging than a 50 year old posting backing track after backing track to get his ego waxed on the internet. If someone claims to be a serious musician but hasn't stepped foot on a stage in over 15 years, how can you take that serious?

And please, Ralph is just about the nicest guy around who has helped more people with gear than i can count. Your opinion of Ralph seems to be heavily influenced by the nutjobs.

Cmon Jim, Ralph has made very valid points and your retort smacks of sour grapes. You have a decidedly different tone over at Mikes Place and most of it is derogatory towards the majority of this place and the people who post here. I have a PM that you sent me regarding one of my clips that was nothing but complimentary yet Carl posted the same clip over there and while you did praise it, you also threw out some derrogatory comments that were no where to be found in the PM that you sent me months earlier, why is that?

Yuo bring up respect and guess what? its a 2 way street, give it and youll get it. You engage in the same behaviour that you attribute to others and I hate to break it to you but thats hypocritical. The only reason that you carry any favor with Carl is because you havent gotten into it with him. Disagree with him and youll find out how much of a Phony demented snake that he really is. I havent had a problem with you and its safe to say that we've gotten along . However , Ralphie is dead on with his assessments. It more than possible to agree to disagree with people but all too often , you come off as a bit of know it all. You brought up the fact that youve played for 37 years on more than one occassion and while that might be impressive to some, It doesnt really mean that your knowledge and experience exceeds that of others.. I dont think that youre a bad guy at all Jim but you could stand to practice some humility and understanding IMO


As most people know, Ralphie is practically my brother; hes one of my closest friends on the planet in the real world, Godfather to my son and truly one of the finest people in my life. All that said, I can see where you might think that because of that relationship, that I am biased. Trust me when I say that isnt the case ; we disagree on a host of things often. If I didnt agree with him, Id come out and say it.
