Can any of you fine gentlemen recommend to me a capo that would work for a nearly 3" wide neck where the clamp isn't curved at the bottom, but like straight?

I can find them wide enough for my extended range guitars, but the curve on the back won't allow them to clamp evenly given the center point of the neck to the edge is about the width of most guitar necks in general. I tried to bend 2 1 of them and broke them it... ?

Don’t play 3” wide neck guitars. Problem solved.
I suppose can just drop them off at the orphanage.

I can barely play a seven string and eight strings are a bit wide. WOW! 30-inch scale?

I never use my thumb or learned proper technique or even how to read sheet music. Unnecessary obstacles, really. My old bandmates seemed to view it a bit different, but to each their own. Most of the 8s are like 26.5-28.5" and that 10 string is a 27-30." I almost ordered a bass once until I realized it was like 35-38." No thanks.

In all seriousness, I wonder if you could use two of those Kyser capos by clamping one over the top and the other from the bottom.

I have tried one on each side. It seems the neck profiles cause the clamp to slip on the back or not lay evenly across the strings/starts slipping from then buzzing here and there. Hadn't really occurred to me to flip one/both.

I’ve seen acoustic guitarists do it. It should work.

This thread should have been titled: Why do search engines bring back unrelated results these days?

I'm not going to say this will for sure work since I've never tried...
Maybe try making your own by attaching a leather strap to a wooden block. Something like this.
