8 String Capo Search

I’ll take the second question.

I went on YouTube and searched 10 string capo and an 8 string capo came up. There is video of a woman playing an 8 with one but you can’t really see much. Sweetwater has them for $32. Clunky looking but better than that 2x4 posted above.

Sounds like you are looking for a piece of “unobtanium”. You might have to rig something until the market catches up. A piece if wood/metal or something similar than goes across the fretboard secured with heavy duty hair ties or something similar.

As for the search engines: Yeah they are congested to the point of being mostly useless. Between outdated content, spam advertising, and crap from people who probably should not be contriburting their “knowledge”; search engines have become a cesspool of frustration and mediocrity.

You should see the crap that comes up if you have to research anything on the “C” programming language. It is the web equivalent of the paleolithic era.
 
I appreciate everyone's input, so many thanks! It's weird to me that this is such a pain to find given people generally drop tune these things. I looked at the spider XXL which I'm gonna pickup but not get my hopes up given reviews. Some of these diy solutions seem overkill/pain to install and have already been using hair ties to hold down objects against the fretboard. Trying to find a quick swap solution. Thinking this is just going to require a diy parting out on of these broken ones I have on hand. Thanks again everyone!

Awesome, this led me down a rabbit hole of capos shaped like alligator heads, sharks, and skeleton boners. Then led me to this one by Alice that was shown in a review pic to be twice the size of the other ones in their pic. Probably not the best quality thing out there, but may do the job. I think that I'll give it a shot. So, thanks!

Have been using hair ties and chopstick/pen. Thanks though, Geo. Appreciate all tips and tricks! I did just order a couple different models on Amazon, so hopefully this thread will help someone in the future. But probably not given the title, haha!
