Ralph, on your Lee Jackson Marshall, did you boost it? I find they're a little too loose and lack some real gain until you boost them. That's when they really come alive. I can't post any cool 80s stuff because I was born in 87. :(

No i didn't boost it because I didn't know about them then!! I was reading every VH article where he said to let the amp do the work, so I never thought about hitting it with something!!

That fucker was on 10 though and my tech told me that amp was one of the loudest he had ever heard :D

Thanks Steve. Most of that period was spent trying to find a good vocalist.
Isn't that always the case? Good drummers come in second on the hard to find list.

Listening... very cool Ralph. Nice tone and the playing is great! Sounds like the 80's alright

i was more like mid-to-late 80's and if i had some pics, i'd post 'em. i lost a ton of pics during several moves after high school. total bummer.

Cool stuff guys!!!

Makes me very sad that I was born in 85 and didn't get in on all the fun.

2 guitar players and only 2 guitar tracks. We didn't have money for rhythm overdubs lol :D

I used a Lee Jackson Modded Marshall and my other guitar player used a Randall rg80!!!

Sounds good Ralph. Like the TNT vibe in the first one. It probably doesnt seem like that long ago right?

Alright, alright. I'm encoding some MP3's.

OK, first one is a project I did with Paul Monroe from XYZ (drummer) and Gigi Hangach from Phantom Blue who did the "girl part" of the vocals on this tune. Most of the rhythm tone you hear is the other guitarists Rockman Sustainer IIRC, but I did squeeze 1 track of Furman PQ-3, Lexicon PCM-41, JMP Marshalls and Orange 4x12 cabs in there. The 1st part of the lead you hear is the other guitarist and then when the tone changes it's me. The engineer and I didn't get along after he spent an hour trying to get the harmonizer set up to double one of my solos when I kept telling him I could nail the harmony in 1 or 2 takes if he'd just give me a new track and press RECORD. He was the guitar player from that Swedish band Silver Mountain that Yngwie stole the Johanson brothers from so I think he hated all other guitarists.

Then we have a Hollywood band called Stone Heart that I joined after they were already weekend headliners. That was sure easier than building a band from the ground up. The bass player from this band went on to play with Doug Aldrich, Steve Vai, and recently played for Keith Urban and now some other platinum selling country artist Dieter something or other.

The whole solo is me on this one.

Stone Heart again and less poppy than that last one. I play the first part of the lead, then it switches to the other guy, then I play both parts of the harmony.

Curt,

Nice playing! The singer on the 2nd tune sounds kinda like the guy from Annihilator.

Doesn't seem Long at all!! I sometimes forget how many years have gone by!! That's also because I have the mentality of a 5 year old:D

Theres Probably no need for me to tell you that I dig your stuff.... but ..... I dig your stuff!!! (*You should know that by now though!!) :D

Well done!! :rawk:

Those tracks are awesome bro! I have heard stolen heart a long while ago back in the older days of HC, and i was actually gonna ask if you'd upload it again because i dont have it! Wicked playing and tones!!!

I may have some cassette stuff lying around, I will look tonight but I was nowhere near the rockstar status of you guys, we just played cover stuff in some bars but nothing like you guys. Harbor Park in CT was pretty freaking fun during the simmer time and played the Russian Lady several times in Hartford.

Listening now, I heard Ralphie's stuff before
