AC/DC has a giant wall of JVMs on stage

It's nice to know Brian is singing at least 4/10ths of the words.

All these old bands not quitting is part of why no new bands are getting their spots.

This reminds me of professional wrestling, when guys like Hogan and Flair hang on way too long and take a top spot that rightfully belongs to some young up and comer.

The consumer is so saturated with old bands who sound like shit and can't write or play music anymore, squeezing every last dollar out, that there is no time or money left for any of the newer bands. Priest literally hired new guitarists after they aged out, so they can continue making mediocre ass music. (that's being kind if you've heard their new album)

Fuck ACDC, Metallica, Motley Crue, and all these bands for sucking up all the oxygen and taking up top spots that rightfully should go to other bands.

Or is this more a statement that new bands aren’t good enough to take their spot? Power is taken, not given. I was watching a series of vids of a guy going to the Rockville festival in Daytona and there was just so much mediocre shit that was all the same downturned, slightly rappy, slightly core, my Dad hates me crap, where it all just bleeds together. And some of those bands have had 20 years to summit the mountain. But the biggest crowds drew to the classic acts. Hell, even Sum41 got a huge crowd.

I think that's definitely a factor, but it's a combination of both - you can't possibly think THIS version of ACDC is providing seminal new albums that will stand the test of time, lol, that's inertia not power

I guess I just assumed that the 90s and 2000s bands would be the elder statesmen now playing the big stages, and its sad watching these bands tarnish their legacies

I will. I need a version of Riff Raff that makes me feel like I’m not working in a hospice.
The live version of Riff Raff from that album is my favorite AC/DC song . It hits like a wrecking ball

I think it’s because the way a lot of younger people consume music and generate connections over enjoying that music has radically changed in the last 15 years. Everything is so scattered and diluted for mega, multi tasking, posts and likes, AD eyeballs and ears. It was hard enough and usually a fluke, to get a strong local following to grow on, back in the day for a band. But that scene brought people together like a tribe. Now that scene is solely online and is as solid as rice paper until the next thing comes along.

I was going to compare it to ric flairs recent last match where he unsurprisingly admits now he had a heart attack during, I’d never go to that match for the sole reason of he’s going to have a heart attack, Brian Johnson at 76 years old can’t be doing two hour sets every night because he didn’t like axl was in the band

These guys need to be retired, in mansions, enjoying their retirement and sipping cocktails and being legends.

Legends with legacies untarnished

Honestly it's sad

Doesn't it make more sense to be like Mark Calloway or Stone Cold? Retired, still relatively hale, healthy and whole, can spend the next few decades relaxing and accepting his adulation from his peers? Doing a movie or appearance every once in a while?

Why are these bands like this?

And it's not really an age thing, if youre in your 70s and putting out great shit, that's one thing - I'm specifically talking about all these bands that have put out nothing but DOGSHIT for DECADES NOW. I know the dude from Slough Feg is like 56 or something and they still kill. Accept absolutely SLAUGHTERS on their new shit. Blind Guardian's quality has taken a dip, but they're putting out pure gold compared to like, Motley Crue or Metallica or ACDC or Priest.

If your run is done, your run is done - ride off into the sunset and leave everyone with images of you on top of the world - not the lasting impression of Brian Johnson croaking out of tune 30% of the words to songs that mean the world to people.

And if you’re only gonna do 30% of the words, please sing them in time. You’re a rock n roll legend, not a beat poet.

i agree, i think the worldwide fame of a band like AC/DC or Metallica is just not a natural human thing, and like a drug some guys just cant shake it. now im reading this, and its just sad..

That's exactly why I don't think they should still be doing this - whether they have the (monetary) power to

That's honestly kind of pathetic - this makes me hate this "Aging rock star well past their prime" shit even more

Oldest ride....longest line...WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Don't you wish THAT flair was the lasting image in your mind? Not the 80 year old man with his geriatric tits flopping everywhere?
