$500 - 600 ? Yamaha all day long
Yamaha acoustics kick ass and are a kick ass value. Gotta remember that they have been making World Class pianos since 1900, they know a few things about acoustic instrumentsI'll second the point that on the used market, Yamaha usually is a good deal, since you're not paying as much for the name as you would for a Martin.
Very nice of you to offer!Oh, and this Reverb seller is local to me: https://reverb.com/shop/backroadsguitars
If anything pops up that catches your/his eye, I can pop in and check it out when I get the chance. They claim they make sure everything hanging on their wall is stage and studio ready, and so far everything I've played (a 1400$ Schecter V and a 160$ used Jackson) has felt great.
Thread/I’ve got a nice USA made Martin for a little more $800. Maybe uncle Jeff can help him out

Yeah. If you are trying to go cheap, nothing wrong with that for sure. But taylor and martin are great. Taylor have a little brighter of a sound and are very beautiful. Martin have a full voicing and are so reasonant.Really hard to beat any of the Godin family of acoustics......Norman, Simon & Patrick, Seagull, Godin.
Yamaha is great bang for the buck.....their Japenese made guitars will hang with anything out there.......might be above your price point though.
Taylor are pretty consistently good.
I have a Mexican Guild that is a great guitar.
