I've got one of these too that I use for small rooms and its ultra portable, loud AF if needed:
Couple questions brother:

What setting are you putting the HPF switch on the back of the yamaha when playing acoustic and would adding a vocal affect how you set that switch? Other question is how do you DI out from that speaker to FOH? Using the output section I'm guessing but should the switch be set to "thru" or depress the switch to the "mix" setting?

I run the HPF off; not sure how it would affect it if using a mic, would just need to test it. use the thru setting if only using channel one to pass through; mix if using both inputs. Also had good results using the effects in the Rosette loop and just going DI post everything from that.

For reference my main acoustic is a Taylor 324CE

The Keeley Caverns is a pretty epic pedal for acoustic, delay & reverb in one. The reverb side has a 'shimmer' setting that's nuts with acoustics.

But yeah, get better to high end preamp pedal > tuner > verb / delay into a powered speaker... its as easy as it gets and sounds phenom.

Oh man, I like that idea! So you just run everything into that one powered speaker? My band has a portable P.A. but would be awesome to have me grab one of those and my buddy grab one for his bass but I need vocals too.

Do you need to go to the P.A.? I was thinking if I got one and my bassist got his own, we would be set.
No, not at all, that's the beauty of this little rig. Super compact, light weight, set it up and go. Truthfully I've only gone that route one time when we did an outdoor gig next to a marina, other wise that DBR is plenty loud for any small / mid size location. Guitar > preamp pedal > DBR10 (or 12) is all you need and you're on.

I forgot to ask, I can use a mic AND a guitar for that right?

Absolutely, it has two inputs that will accept either XLR or 1/4" cables, individual levels on both. It doesn't get any more compact or easy to setup with killer sound results, really can't hype these Yamaha speakers enough for that application. Guitar and mic into one powered speaker, done. I usually use the speaker as a floor wedge with just guitar but I do have a stand I use to put it vertical off the ground when using both a mic and the guitar

Here you go, found this...mildly entertaining and for sure not usual RT content haha, but it fully demos the exact speaker and what you're asking about:

Thanks dude! Lol, man that guy was cracking me up 😅 I bet he is a blast to hang out with. The shot with the 4-wheelers and the boat with all of the stuff in the barn was hilarious. He got a great sound in that and definitely convinced I'd dig that.

Hey and all good that it isn't usual RT stuff man. We are well-known members of Rig Talk. If I feel like posting a video of a dog dancing the merengue, wearing rain boots and a jester hat, while playing a 62' Stratocaster and smoking a Cuban cigar, I'm doing it....😅
