But the link the OP posted had nothing to do with Tom Morello lol

TM has always been a massive gaffot

Nothing anyone can do to stop it.

If we have the tech to do something, the market will dictate we use it.

Layman's terms, if we can build it, somebody will, and if people want to buy it, somebody will sell it to them. Done

Embrace it, until it kills you :hys:

yep. All that's needed is a reasonable cost/benefit model. The combination of generative AI, tools, large language models, and growing numbers of skilled AI developers, data scientists have brought us to an exponential growth/expansion moment. AI is about to be unleased widely and quickly in the very near future IMO. Things that were difficult or costly 2-3 years ago, are easier and cost effective now.

I have been spending years scraping data and feeding it through any available AI source on a massive scale that humanities #1 goal is to destroy the first sentient AI that exists.

Newsflash: companies can't make more money/increase profits when less and less people will be out of a job. Companies rushing AI along so other companies can use it (in order to increase profits), won't have any customers soon and then what happens?

It's going to bite everyone in the ass, even it's creators.

universal basic income; neo-feudalism; the future brave new world needs its deltas, gammas and epsilons...seems there are many potential volunteers.

by the time AI comes for me (not far off, actually), I should be retired.

RATM was as serious about social issues as Slayer was about satanism.

:D

I enjoyed Slayer, never into RATM. FWIW. Saw Slayer back in the day a few times, Hell Awaits, Reign in Blood, South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss (IIRC this was the Clash of Titans tour, with Megadeth and Anthrax (w/ Public Enemy); Alice in Chains opened and was booed off the stage.)

Also we've had many revolutions i.e. Industrial Resolution.. we survived them, and I don't think anyone would like to go back to the hardships before machines.

I've been writing AI software for the last 8 years for automation, it has not put anyone out of a job. Just makes it easier on the people working, and it allows the plants/factories to handle more workload, and streamline operations.

I've been working in AI for decades; I've eliminated human tasks, simplified human tasks, and assisted human tasks. In most cases the results are fewer humans with less training/skills are required to do more work with fewer errors and less time

the shit sucks and is gonna ruin humanity. ill try and look at the bright side though.. i just busted my ass all week working, im ready to sit down and crack a beer and pack a bowl.. would it be the worst thing to tell the computer make me an album with john bonham playing drums, iommi playing guitar, cliff burton on bass and bon scott singing... and it actually churned out an album that is enjoyable even if fake??

Give me some Tina Turner and Trent Reznor so they can have vocal sex with each other.
John 5 and Wes Borland would wedge in there well.
Herbie Hancock on keys.
Bootsy Collins on bass.
The Def Leppard drummer, but instead of one arm give him no arms.
In the style of a Norwegian cult hymm.
