I wonder if this amp has anything to do with Friedman not yet releasing the Vintage line or EVH amp? I just checked and TK amps are indeed built by BAD.

It does sound good. I've never tried an Iron Man attenuator, I've heard mixed reviews.

The price is reasonable as well but it has one glaring problem....... it doesn't seem to VH :p . If it did, Pete would have showed it.

It does seem to " Ace Frehley" though. So there's that. Overall really nice sounding to my ear.

My Bogner Telos, which suffered from a horribly mismarketed demo video by Lance Lopez (who is a good player, but made the amp sound like the most under-rectified Tweed amp ever made) does all these tones via relay-switching the preamp (the Schizo rotary). Sad that amp didn't sell...love mine.

This sounds good. I like the Tone King stuff.

That Telos suits your playing so well man

I had an Emplexador for several years and my experience was not the same.
It was neutered in the top end and always felt too tame to compare to a raging Marshall.
Maybe it’s me, but without that upper midrange and treble, it just isn’t the same experience.

I owned this exact Emplexador, a couple of years before the guy made this video. Not discounting your experience, but I felt the one I had didn’t lack any cut. If that amp popped up again at the right price, I would snag it in a heartbeat.

I’ve always got a big kick out of the Emplexador’s I’ve tried. I never got one because I found the vintage side to be really dull while the modern setting was like an awesome, goosed JMP Master Volume. The vids I’ve seen from Brian of the Emplex Jr. Sound fantastic. I’ve owned a few metal panels and JMP MV’s so the 64 and 67 settings on the Toneking are what hooked me in, even though the 70 sounded sweet as well.

I was just thinking....
Would the built in attenuator mess things up or be detrimental to something if it was run through an amp switcher?
