Pretty close, would be better if you played a Pantera riff but oh well. It definitely has the grind.

Sure it does, CFH and Trendkill. I could get those tones easily with one. The 1980's RG100ES that is, not the one they released in the mid 90's called the RG100H. Dimebag had stacks of those amps (rg100es) on stage in the late 80's and early 90's, and in his rack was 3 rg100ht heads, the rackmount version of that amp, it sounds a bit brighter, but you can get that tone with it too.

The tubes are no conspiracy, regardless of what we hear and everyone can hear different someone just posted an old interview with the producer mentioning the Wizard. The Marshall did not belong to any other band because it was Pantera only playing. Fay Beyond Driven tour. I am not the only who have seen those amps on stage either.

my GE7 and ashly pq16 will do just fine, i found my pictures of dimes settings i will use as a starting point

I’m no Dime aficionado or anything, so can’t comment how well they’ll work or not, but would just say that regardless of how they’re dialed in the Furman PQ3 & blue MXR just have inherent qualities to their core tone that are unique to them. No other pq has the same juicy character to the mids IME. Maybe for rhythm it won’t matter much, but in his lead tone I think it would be more important

did you flip them upside down like dime did?
I have tried that, but I don’t care about copying Dime’s or anyone else’s sound. I just sometimes get close to other’s sound by coincidence and tend not to stay there

You don't know shit dude. I know he used a wizard in the studio, that's no secret, but Dimebag sure as hell wasn't playing thru any Marshall's unless they were for his clean tone which he is known for using tube amps for his clean tone live. I've seen them on the stage with him before too, but they belonged to another band, simple as that. Dimebag played thru Randall's, then Krank live for his main rhythm tone. He didn't lie about his shit.

You ever see the Dimebag clinic video from 1993? you see him playing thru a carpeted Randall rg100es head in the video and guess what, he sounded exactly like Dimebag.

He did that because of the wiring that sticks out of the pickup and hits the bottom of the guitar causing it to lean, which causes one coil to be closer to the strings, simple as that.

Yes. He used a mesa mark 1 for his clean tone. Never used tubes in live shows with pantera except the cleans. Every dirty sound on live pantera shows was solid state.

Beware he will say you are an idiot who does not know shit, he did all his research in the internet, the biggest hole of disinformation. It is the Wizard only(Marshall clone but probably he does not know that) according to this crackhead who sold all his gear to buy drugs.

Darrell never used the Krank heads live. Just the cabs. Check out every live pic of the Damageplan tour and you will see the pilot light on, but no guitar cable plugged into the heads. He had a road case filled with Randalls backstage including a WARHEAD X2 head and a MTS head with 3 modules in it. You can find those pics online. Absolutely true.

i saw them here a couple days before he died, a couple of my buddies were working that tour and i had a working pass, for some reason his guitar tech wasnt there or got fired and darrell had to come out and set everything up himself which superfan me was so excited to watch, he was using the kranks that night, they werent headlining though and it wasnt a huge club so maybe he just winged it with them?? i remember the krank not having the gain i was expecting but he had a mxr wylde OD he kicked on and it was good
