yeah, I wouldn't even attempt to paint it....getting it painted does run up the cost by about $200 I think..depending on what you want...custom graphics are obviously more expensive...

A custom graphic like the blood splatter would cost you ~ $500... I got the painted body for $369... not bad...

True dat... There seems to be a shortage of OFRs right now... I paid $170 a few months ago and now they are getting over $200 for 'em...

Steve

I think vlad said the same thing..couldn't find an OFR in stock...I bet about five years ago they were probably giving them away...floating trems seem to be making a comeback

I think so! That said, getting a painted guitar for $1000 these days is like the find of the century lol!!
I definitely have to check one of these out!! They look like such a killer deal!

I highly recommend this stuff bro - and $1000 including a graphic is a stupid deal IMO...

Brother Steve!!

Well... as you know Ralph, these things are a crapshoot as far as how they are going to sound because you never know how a given neck and body are gonna work together. I've had GMWs made out of exactly the same wood and one sounded like crap and the other sounded amazing... This time, however, I got lucky. These pieces work great together and the thing sounds very nice! Real meaty and throaty sounding guitar if you know what I mean. I really like this Custom 5 pickup as well. I've played it through the modded PM and my MKIV and it sounds great through both...

As far as how it plays - it is right on with the way I like a guitar setup. Action is just right - not too high and not too low. Bends are easy and the neck plays fast... Overall a big  from me... I believe you'd really like this one if you got to play it... The neck did need a bt of fretwork when I got it as expected. The frets had to be filed on the sides to avoid ripping my fingers apart   and the guy who put this together did a bit of leveling and polishing...

That looks killer Steve!!

Im planning on building one of these Msuikraft Charvel clones very soon :)

Totally hear you about it being a crapshoot!! Hell Lee over at GMW told me the same thing (that he could not predict how the finished guitar would sound!!)

When Im ready for a new guitar, I think I know where Im headed ;)

DO WANT! all these guitar build pics are making me want to order up the parts from musickraft

can you move back on the trem with that? looks awesome btw

Thanks man! There are three modes of the Tremol-No:

1) Completely locked - basically fixed bridge mode - won't move up or down
2) Down only - like a blocked Floyd trem - only dive bombs down - can't pull up
3) Free Floating - trem moves up and down

You can move between modes with just a couple of quick twists on the black adjustment thingys on the back of the Tremol-No...

Steve

does that mean i can go drop d without retuning and move up and down on the trem?

I think you'd need a D-Tuna for that.. but im not 100% sure.

I didnt think the Tremel-no could do a drop D setting

What it means is that in either mode 1) or 2) you can do Drop D without re-tuning if you have a D-Tuna. If you want to bring the bar up and down, you have to move to mode 3) which does not allow Drop D.

So... you can do what you are saying, however, you'd have to move from mode 1) or 2) in Drop D to Standard tuning in mode 3) to do it. To do that, you have to finger adjust the Tremol-No. So, you have to leave the trem cover off and you really douldn't do it in the middle of the song. From song to song though, moving modes of the Tremol-No is definitely do-able...

awesome, so this means good old dimebag squeals in either tuning :D might get one of those

after lookin at my guitar, the d-tuna would just hit the body way before i could get a high enough squeal so thats a no-no
