Not the savage actually. The Powerball synergy module sounds way better. That’s the one I use the most.
Love my savageses. Favorite is my 60 Savage.![]()
I went on tour, ain’t got no time when being rock star. Someone has to take care of all the man groupies.Where have you been, Ola?
You didn't even show up to the Riff War...
I think it’s because the savage was one of the first modules. It does not represent the savage well. The powerball came later and sounds way more “Engl”I watched a few demos of the Savage 120 vs Synergy Savage module and the module didn’t seem all that close to the amp, or at least more different than I think a Savage 120 fan would want it to be.
Does the Synergy Powerball module sound like a real Powerball or is it a more “generally ENGL in a good way” kind of sound?

I love the savage for thrashy tones, but the artist is by far my favorite engl. I prefer having a bit less fizz and a bit more low mid meat, especially in my punk band. Even though it has way less gain, the gain sounds more usable to my ears for those sorts of tones - especially with a decent overdrive for lead tones.
I actually like tones ive heard from the savage 60 a bit more than the 120, but that could just be coincidence or data bias. @Speeddemon has sent me some rad clips of his, and most of the 120 clips i've heard were kind of blah "modern" sounding shit, which probably aren't representative of what it's capable of. I personally prefer the artist, but honestly most of the higher end engls are good sounding to various degrees - the lack of popularity on RT is because no one will fix them in the US, and there have been a few big QC issues with some of the amps.
No sound on my end
Which ENGL do you have now?
Powerball?
50w Artist - the links working so I don't know what to tell ya![]()
Sorry, phone clips, man.i suppose I could have edited the audio to dual mono but I didn't think it was that important for a quick band practice thingOkay, I'm an idiot.
It's coming through mono and my right laptop speaker is out.
Can hear now with my headphones on backwards.![]()

Is the Powerball 100 v1 known for issues? Was looking at one a few weeks ago and liked what I was hearing.
Would love to compare side by side with the Fireball just to make sure.
The ones that come to mind quickly were the fireball 60 and early SE revisions that had issues, if the early Powerball had issues I don't remember
You gotta do some Kai Hansen tones with that Powerball I tho - those tones were absolutely killer on those gamma Ray albums.
If you're looking at the Powerball, I'd go for version 2. Less clinical. Is the Powerball 100 v1 known for issues? Was looking at one a few weeks ago and liked what I was hearing.

I still love my Powerball v1 . Only problem is it has small trannies so live it’s not the greatest with drums . But recording wise it’s perfect and rich and tightIs the Powerball 100 v1 known for issues? Was looking at one a few weeks ago and liked what I was hearing.

I still have mine. All these great amps I have and I can’t let it go . What’s that say for it ?I know this is anecdotal, but I played a Powerball v1 every day as my main amp for years and never had a single issue. So at the very least, not all of them were prone to messing up.![]()
