The life of the well renown and loved fusion guitarist Ed DeGenaro (Ed DeGenaro) has taken a sudden turn after a fire in the apartment Ed stayed at and has strapped him of everything he owned. As a working musician he is struggling to rebuild his life and get back to normality. We talked extensively on the phone and all of this is unfortunately true.

To help him out, we just released a special Expansion set for the phenomenal 1967 Marshall Super Bass we dubbed the "REX", featuring captures with with pedals in front for warm drive and lead sounds that fit Ed's style.

More info on the Expansion set here (QC version coming tomorrow): https://www.amalgamcaptures.com/product-page/mrsh-sb67-rex-for-ed-txe

Here is Ed's demo of it on youtube:

And below is a great demo by Fabian Ratsak

Dude that is tragic. Stuff can be replaced but that still is awful to hear. I’m glad you made it out alright. I’m sure it’s tough given you need the gear to do what you do.

Ed had one of the best Soldano clips on HC back in the day. Want to say it was an Avenger, but could be wrong. It was one of the sickest tones I've heard, to this day..

Hope you're on the mend Ed. Having some experience in them, I wouldn't wish a house fire on an enemy.

Ed is a legend. I had him stay with me when I had him be one of the amp demo dudes at an amp shootout I did in 2000. Ed is the man. We went out to eat at a Thai restaurant and he asked for more of this killer hot chili sauce they used for dipping. He drank the shit. Made my eyes water just getting near it and yet Ed literally drank it. He is an awesome guitarist and animal lover. Back then Ed had about 10 dogs and later added a pet pig.

Ed’s chops are the best of the best. Dudes a solid player and does so professionally.

Sorry to hear that Ed, I’m hoping no animals got hurt?

Man, I'm sorry to hear that.

Ed was one of those players back in the HCAF days; the stuff he would share really inspired me to take my playing more seriously.

Yeah let’s call it one life’s wrinkles.
I’m just happy I survived it.

Ed had one of the best Soldano clips on HC back in the day. Want to say it was an Avenger, but could be wrong. It was one of the sickest tones I've heard, to this day..
Was an Avenger with DeYoubg x-former

The worst part wasn’t the ICU but the lung station was brutal to make it through. And that was with being pumped so full of Cortes on they need insulin to level it out, then they gave me meds for high blood pressure alternating with ones for low, anti anxiety shit that made me feel like a zombie it felt like a release from a prison in Cambodia when I finally got out.

Then things got funny since the apartment is unusable til we fix it and after 3 1/2 weeks it still smells like a smoker the first hotel we spent 5 days was ok. It was 60 bucks. A step above a bang joint
Day 5 since this is a trade show town they tell me if we stay it’ll be 190 a day, so we found a better price else where with basically is a studio apt like a descrnd size room and a kitchen.
Just way more expensive but we at least safe on not having to do take out.

Some friends were very kind and send me some gear one went way above and beyond and sent me a Mesa MkV25

Another got me one of those 300 bucks Harley Benton

But yes none of this matters compared to life.
Give a new perspective and gratitude. Without people’s support I’d be under a bridge at 28F
