Hey guys,
I've owned 'Speak of the Devil' many times,,,on CD, and cassette multiple times, but I fucken have lost my copy for the 3rd time. This time, I sold my car and accidentally Left it in the backseat pocket with a handful of other CD's. This is a very hard album to come by these days, as it's been pulled from Ozzy's North American catalog, and what's on YouTube are very poor quality audio recordings that aren't even of the same performance as the record was. I am about to pull the trigger on another CD of SOTD that is used on Amazon, but I figured I'd try here and see if anyone here had the tracks off of the album burned to MP3's. PM me if anyone does and could possibly email me the tracks, and I would compensate them accordingly.
I'll give it a day or so, if no takers, I'll just buy the used disk on Amazon.
Thanks
L

Do you mean album as in vinyl? I have it on vinyl,is it different than the CD version?

I loved that album! Haven't heard it in forever though.

The album is awesome as is Brad Gillis.
I got BOTH Ritz shows live as they went down, Ozzy's out of tune vocals and all.

Great album and Brad took the reigns on short order and pulled it off. The tone on that recording is better than anything Oz put out up to that point, really better than BAM too. If I have any complaint of Brad's it's that he flutters and whammy's way too much. I know that it's his schtick, but his phrasing and technical skills don't need the wankery to still have an identity.

I never appreciated what Brad did until I heard an interview with him. Ballsy to step in so quick and take the reigns and for that you have to appreciate what he did. He was a solid player but tone wise, fill wise, and chops wise, I have to say that I really disliked his take on Randy's stuff. His picking and note selection is seriously lacking as was his vibrato. The whammy abuse was pretty brutal for me as well. Appreciate him way more in Night Ranger but I get that he was putting his stamp on things. Schenker stepping in would have been EPIC!

Ordered it on Amazon. Same day delivery ....nice! When I bought this on vinyl back in late 82' when it came out, I had heard of the classic Sabbath tunes like iron man and the like, but never bothered with anything else. This album got me into Sabbath, and I really liked the fresh take that this lineup gave to this classic Sabbath set list. I read that some songs were recorded at sound check, but Ozzy's voice, Gillis' Boogie tone, Sarzo's bass and Aldrich's drums were a breath of fresh air for these tunes. I can't wait to crank the shit out of this when it arrives!

I have the DVD. Good stuff. So wish they had made a Rhoads video of the same quality.

I used to have this ALBUM
Awesome stuff. I didn't know Sabbath or Rhoads, this was my introduction to Oz.
Totally influenced my guitar fire!

-was just talking about this album & Brads tone on the MARSHALL FORUM,.. Brads tone was the best live tone ive ever heard, OZZY did take it back to the studio to "FIX" it,.... or so said TONY IOMMI,.. SABBATH released LIVE EVIL?-(going off my feeble memory here)-at the same time, this was at the hieght of the "SABBATH RULES, OZZY DROOL'S" love fest .....

Many live albums have studio overdubs done later. The vocals are doubled so they are t original.

You ever hear the original vocals? They were totally overdubbed.

With all of Ozzy's drinking after Randy's death I doubt he sounded good at any of the shows that year. He definitely didn't sound good at the show in Rockford Illinois I saw that year.

Agreed. Gillis' tone on SOTD is just ridiculously killer. One of my all time favorite guitar tones. :worship:

You earn points for Schenker comment. I read in interviews that Ozzy reached out to Gary Moore but he wanted a kings ransom , Gary would have also been awesome IMO

A good album but it can`t touch the original Sabbath versions

The only thing I don't like too much with the album is the kick drum and bass guitar tone. A little too punchy to me (mid range EQing and compression).
