Converted to jazz IIIKs a couple years back, and love the notch-in these.

Jazz 3 carbon fiber max grips take a while for me to wear down.

What are they made of?
For the ones I listed, "Made from the very tough Ultem material". Some are UHMWPE and PEEK composite for example, he lists the material on each pick I believe. I'm not a chemical guy so not sure what these materials are, but he uses different materials. There used to be a page that listed them all but can't find that any longer.

Had a question about size of Winspear picks compared to the Jazz III. I can't post a pic in a conversation, so posting here:

I;ve tried to find alternatives but it's hard to beat dunlop jazz 3's

Does anyone make a pick the same size as Jazz III but in Fender Medium material?

I love the EJ Jazz III (which EJ doesn't even use) but none of the Jazz IIIs do pick scrapes worth a damn. The EJ Jazz III is a slightly different material and the lettering has way more grip (too much when new imo). They are also a little more chirpy than regular red Jazz IIIs. The reason I don't like those Petrucci Jazz IIIs are because they are really chirpy using my technique. They are the perfect size tho.

It just amazes me that nobody makes Jazz III- sized Fender Medium. Play old VH with a Jazz III and then a Fender Medium...you kind of need that Fender pick once you hear that difference.

I like Gravity Golds Big Mini Pointed. I used to use Red Bear and prefer Gravity Gold. I am not a fan of regular Gravity but the Golds are great.

ULTEX SHARPS!!! 1.14 and 2 I believe

I need to try some of these custom high end picks you guys speak of

Been using Dunlop Ultex Sharp 1.0's for years. Gonna order me some Winspears this evening.

Ultra sharps 1.13 and ultra jazz iii xl. The jazz wears down a bit slower, the ultex sounds a little better. I’ve gone through quite a few styles of picks, the ultex sharps I just buy a huge bag and throw them out when they get too dull. But they last a good enough amount of time

Cool, thanks. I currently use Gravity's, which I really like, but wouldn't mind something that wears even better.

It’s the small, Black Jazz III for me - I think it has a fuller sound on the unwound strings than the thinner Red version.

I used the .60mm Tortex for about 20 years & then 5 years ago i switched to the .73mm tortex. I wear them out pretty quickly but i buy them by the gross so i always have lots laying around.

Yeah. I have bags and bags of the 1.35 and 1.5, too. I just have to walk accross the room to get a new one...

All of your replies made me want to try all those brands. Most of them are pretty much the same pick just with slight modifications. A buddy of mine wanted me to buy one in particular that is a bit expensive. I have bought a 25$ pick before. I still have it and almost never use it, so this new one could be a waste of time for double the price, but it has shipped and I will let you guys know when I get it. https://www.plectrum.ch/product/the-original-mega-anvil-clear-acrylic
I don't know how it's going to feel being over a 1/2" thick, but it will be fun to try anyway. Damn thing better at least be decent for the price of a used pedal, lol.
