I have a question. I seem to like the clip of Marshall law's 50 watt mod the best.
what exactly is that mod ? What is the difference in that mod versus the mods for GBS music and Lp freak ? Oh, yeah and costs ?

The Marshall Law is a 3 stages and is a little more raunchy and pissed off sounding than the one I did for LPFreak. The one I did for Greg (gbsmusic) is 5 stages and it really sounds even better at louder volumes. I'm going to get some new clips of it soon mic'd up. The price just depends on the donor amp...I'm pretty reasonable. ;)

I have a BFG modded 1959 and I have to say it kicks so much ass. Fat and juicy Marshall tone for days. I can't get a bad sound out of this amp. Plexi, AC/DC ,VH Brown,80's hair, modern chugga chugga,it's all there. And a great clean channel as well.Very surprised about that. But I don't play clean very often,I just roll the vol down. And this amp cleans up very well with the volume knob.Granted,my playing may suck but the tones are incredible. And I haven't even really tweaked anything yet, just plug and play.

Very percussive and tight, yet juicy . Me likey.

Thanks for the feedback...much appreciated. That amp has a lot of cool options and that clean channel is pretty impressive when people see you playing a Marshall.

Marshall 1959 Super Lead Reissue BFG mods.

Crunch check. Basically just plugged in , played. minimal fiddlin' with knobs.

That sounds bad ass. Definately no lack of chuga-chuga here.

It will do a lot more too, I just haven't had time to twiddle. Essentially 3 channels , 2 dirty and a clean (which sounds really good)

Brian really knows his stuff and is a great guy to deal with.

oh my god.....

hey brian your slingblade sounds killer. This BS with Rockstah has to stop. he wants credit for every great amp out there. hey brian I remember helping you as well man. damn you yoyu ripped off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

enough already.................................. great job.

maybe he is bi polar and while on tour runs out of meds,.... ? ? ? who knows. sure got a lot or personalities though.

Jerry, come on man! the only thing i would want is credit where credit is due. The only reason i started making noise is when certain people tried to take that credit away. you have seen me around for how many years now? i'm over it and quite busy building and modifying BUT.. surely you can understand my position... its all good.

i never quite understood what all the fuss was about other than no one had gotten as close to vh as me but then again you do remember me fiending on it as well as all of the contribution to amp builders alike.

the BS is over as far as i'm concerned.
anyone that would take the time to actually talk to me would see i'm a cool dude.

I know you are. thats why I cant beleive this came up again. I happen to know for a fact that BFG amp has a way of wiring a gain control that you havent seen yet .. so how can it be your mod etc. I know you didnt say it flat out but you cried about him not giving you a nod. He didnt give me one either and I know I helped him with that end result. Hes done the same we all have, learn some shit, take what you like dump what you dont and bam! a nice circuit that has flavors of your own design. The only people who deserve any credit are the pioneers of these circuits. Tube companies, Leo Fender then Jim Marshalls techs.

Let me set the record straight. I don't care what Mark does and I don't care about his mod personally because it does not interest me...blessings upon his endeavors. Jerry did offer me a wiring tip some time ago that I tried and did not care for. I have never used it in any of my mods hence the reason I did not say anything. I don't know how this thread became all fucking Jerry Springer...I simply am showing some unique clips as well as a few others have done of my work. Leave the bullshit at the door... Rock On!

For a couple of months I played with tubes and speakers and just couldn't get what I was looking for... So, this afternoon I boxed up my JCM 800 combo and will ship it out to Brian tomorrow. I really like his Angry Beaver and Shaved Beaver clips. They sound like what I think a modded Marshall should sound like...hot rodded, but definitely still all Marshall. I talked to Brian and he seems like a very cool guy. I also got to chat a bit with some very happy BFG users. What I really like is that Brian has extensive experience with SLOs...and an SLO is my main amp. I definitely don't want my Marshall to sound like an SLO. But it made it a bit easier for me to explain what I was looking for...a Marshall that is all Marshall, but rivals the SLO in gain and articulation/note clarity; maybe with a little more thickness and bottom, but without losing too much of those beautiful (some people call them "piercing') Marshall 800 highs. I don't want a dark amp. Yeah, sounds simple. While I was explaining this "sound" to Brian not once did he call me an unrealistic idiot. LOL I really am looking forward to hearing what Brian can do with this little combo. I think if he gets it to sound something like in-betwen the other Beaver mods, I'll be pretty happy. Maybe we can call it the "Between Beavers" Mod.
