Rev Green vs Rev Blue Uberschall!
There are marked differences in these two badass amps. Not many side by side comparisons out there.

Rev green lives up to the "More Aggresive" description it has been given as it has a dramatic upper mid spike with a lot less roundness in the mids specifically, and EQ overall. It also does have little to no sweep on the gain pot. It's pretty much on or off.

I'm split on which one I like more. In the room and listening back, my opinions are slightly varied.

Take a listen and let me know your thoughts!

Great vid. You describe the differences perfectly IMO. The Blue definitely sounds bigger by itself. Both sound great with the boost.

I have a Diamond Nitrox, and always thought it sounded similar to my Rev Blue, but somehow different. Listening to this I can say the Nitrox sounds much more like the Rev Green.

Props for the Life of Agony riffing!

I used to really dig the Ubers. The Original Uber was a monster it was thunderous and had a warmth to tone I really dug. They were one trick ponies for me although that one trick was killer!

I loved the Rev Blue I had. With a boost or even the right cab, it could be super tight, articulate and cutting, but still had a touch of sag to avoid being stiff.

Agreed... I've had all versions of the Uber up through the Twin Jet, and to my ears the original version is the biggest and best sounding by far. My first one was an original version with a serial sign in the low 40's that sounded absolutely massive. I foolishly traded it, thinking I could always buy another. I spent the next 10 years or so buying and selling all of the subsequent versions trying to find another that sounded as good. It wasn't until I found another low serial sign original version that I found that huge sound again. This one will go to the grave with me. To each his own, but IMHO they started off as incredible amps and each revision got progressively smaller sounding.

Early rev green here (045). Accurate description! On or off, one trick but one hell of a trick. Smokes my TwinJet. Wouldnt trade it for the world

I opened mine up for the first time last night. It's a Rev 2 board. Power tubes are unmarked. They look more like a KT77 than anything, but tought to tell. I'm thinking maybe it should get a lookover by my tech since I haven't really done anything with it since I got it

Its too bad Rev 2's are so damn hard to come by, let alone lower serial numbers versions. I keep hearing this opinion from owners like you with earlier models and I believe you. I played a version that was in the 200-300's. I don't remember the exact serial since I never cared to look into it at the time. There are differences for sure from the rev blue but I felt it was more hype than anything. I'd love to play an early model to be proven wrong.

Great work as always Kyle! Thanks for putting out this vid. Not enough of these floating out there and yours takes the cake so far. I still prefer the blue with its eq curve and more usable gain pot.

My friend has an Uber that’s serial 143. Anyone here know which version that would be?

I’ve played it a few times and thought it sounded good, but thought my amps I had at the time sounded better in AB comparisons (iic+ hrg, Mark iii++ no stripe coliseum, and some Cameron modded Marshall’s)

Also agree..I've played two Rev 2's. Both killer but not equal. Can't confirm if any mods were done but I believe the myth that Reinhold would do random shit sometimes.

So just to clarify on the different versions - the original Uber had a rubber handle, green indicator light, and the gain had very little taper - it was almost on or off. I have seen posts, but cannot personally confirm, that the original version went up to around serial sign 150. If you have a serial sign under 100, I would guess that it is surely an original version.

The second version, which is (incorrectly, but usually) referred to as rev 2 or green rev had a leather handle and a more subtle taper on the gain knob, but also still had a green indicator light. From all I've been able to research, the handle is the best indicator of whether it's an original version, or a "rev 2" (it's really rev 1, since it's the first revision to the original design, but no one refers to it as that).

Savant421 it sounds to me like you must have an original version, which I'm sure sounds amazing - is the handle leather or rubber?

On a side note to anyone with an original version Uber - try a NOS 5751 in V1. To my ears, this kept the amp sounding huge, but gave it more clarity, and obviously more control over the gain levels.

Had one of the first ones and the gain taper was a issue and sold it but I do know where one of three prototypes with a pair of 6550`s is. Bogner builds cool amps but they always seem to fuck a good thing up. Just like the first 10 or so Shiva`s no other shiva`s sound like that.

Mine also has the gain taper issue. I was told it should be gone on the Rev 2 Green, but nope. Here it is.
