Damn! Firey, soulful, and great tones! Wonder what amps/pedals he's using?

...obvious a few E.J. licks in there, but I also heard some Peter Frampton licks in there as well. I love J.B.'s not choices!

Half of the rock stars over on TGP really do think he sucks. What a bunch of idiots.

Is there truth to this statement or are you trolling unbelievably hard? I don't spend any time over at TGP so I have no idea if this is true... however if it is you have just succeeded in making every single horrible rumor I've heard about the cork-sniffery there completely true...

...unbelievable...

Just finishing Joe's pedal board. Just have to do some labels.

Joe's three piece band killed it back in the day. They were locked in and on fire when they recorded A New Day Yesterday Live. I definitely miss the rawness his old bass player brought to the songs. Great, great stuff!!!

Not at all to hijack the thread, but what IS this Strathead Tele that Clapton is playing in the original??

There have been umpteen threads slagging Joe on TGP. It's pretty well-documented. They've said some REALLY nasty shit on there.

Is it because they are blues "purists" and Joe isn't?

I'm not quite sure how any serious musician could slag Joe. I'm dissaponted in some of his choices but I would never discount what he brings to music.

I'd still rather listen to Joe than 95% of what's out there today.

If I had to guess the reason, I would probably say it's because a good bunch of them are cunts. Scroll to the last post on the first page of this thread - https://www.thegearpage.net/board/showth ... p?t=913716

I think his playing is amazing...I just wish he wouldn't sing.

Big time about the singing. Honestly I thought the same about Gary Moore in his Blues phase. He was a passable rock/metal singer but horrible blues singer. But in my own experience after years of dealing with singers I can easily see why in a hot second JB wants to do it himself. I would gladly do it too if my voice was worth a damn. Now if only JB would hook up with a classic, rock singer..............

......Too bad his sound and attack are a shadow of this rockpalast stuff by the time he gets with GH.

Saw Joe last year in Houston. I can tell you that he still brings it live. He was just on fire at that show.

Great, great player. Anyone who says otherwise is deaf

Seriously this..... I cracked up at some of those TGP posts, specifically the ones where he should thicken his skin or similar.

My personal opinion is that Joe is a regular dude who LOVES playing and gear. Hearing smack from a bunch of wannabe hacks be it from TGP or anywhere else would be enough for me to call them on it as well.
Everybody is welcome to an opinion but personally, I consider the source. If thats coming from a place like TGP where playing and talent takes a back seat to gear acquisition, Id happily point it out and laugh at them, ESPECIALLY when so many of them swing from the nuts of a hack like Mayer LOL, talk about clueless...

FWIW, I love Joes Voice. I cant say that Im wowed by his recent solo stuff but no matter, he cuts loose live and proves why he deserves his praise... I do wish that he still had Eric Czar on board and played Strats more than he does but Im still more than happy to have him on the scene doing what hes doing until he truly finds his voice and direction..

...exactly...doing a kickass Mercyful Fate tribute

I like JB and have been inspired to pick up one of his books.

The guy has made it big in a very tough biz, in a style of music that is not popular. That is amazing in itself.

For the haters, show us a better way.
